Ibn ‘Umar reported that God’s messenger said when he was on the pulpit speaking ofsadaqaand abstention from begging, “The upper hand is better than the lower one, the upper being the one which bestows and the lower the one which begs.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

ابن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ منبر پر تشریف فرما تھے ، اور آپ نے صدقہ کرنے اور سوال کرنے سے بچنے کے لیے فضائل بیان کرتے ہوئے فرمایا :’’ اوپر والا ہاتھ نچلے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے ، اور اوپر والا ہاتھ خرچ کرنے والا ہے جبکہ نچلا ہاتھ سوال کرنے والا ہے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ibne Umar RA se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah SAW mimbar par tashreef farma thay, aur aap ne sadqa karne aur sawal karne se bachne ke liye fazail bayan karte huye farmaya: ''Upar wala hath nichey hath se behtar hai, aur upar wala hath kharch karne wala hai jab keh nichla hath sawal karne wala hai.'' Mutaffiq Alaih.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَذْكُرُ الصَّدَقَةَ وَالتَّعَفُّفَ عَنِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ: «الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَالْيَد الْعليا هِيَ المنفقة وَالْيَد السُّفْلى هِيَ السائلة»
