Description of Itikaf (spiritual retreat in the mosque)

It is narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not sleep without reciting Surah Sajdah and Surah Mulk. [This is mentioned in] Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Darami and Imam Tirmidhi said: This hadith is sahih (authentic). It is similarly mentioned in Sharh al-Sunnah. However, in Misbah it is mentioned as gharib (having a weak chain of narration). [Overall] the chain of narration is weak.

جابر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ ، سورۃ السجدہ اور سورۃ الملک پڑھے بغیر نہیں سوتے تھے ۔ احمد ، ترمذی ، دارمی اور امام ترمذی نے فرمایا : یہ حدیث صحیح ہے ۔ شرح السنہ میں بھی اسی طرح ہے ۔ جبکہ مصابیح میں ہے کہ یہ غریب ہے ۔ سندہ ضعیف ۔
Jabar RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi SAW surat al sajdah aur surat al mulk parhey baghair nahi sotay thay. Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Darmi aur Imam Tirmidhi ne farmaya: yeh hadees sahih hai. Sharh al sunnah mein bhi isi tarah hai. Jabkay musabih mein hai keh yeh ghareeb hai. Sanad zaeef.
وَعَنْ جَابِرٌ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ لَا يَنَامُ حَتَّى يَقْرَأَ: (آلم تَنْزِيل)\و (تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ)\رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ\وَقَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ. وَكَذَا فِي شرح السّنة. وَفِي المصابيح\
