Anas reported God’s messenger as saying to Ubayy b. Kā'b, “God has commanded me to recite the Qur’ān to you.” He asked, “Did God mention me to you by name?” and when he was told that He had, he said, “Have I been mentioned in the presence of the Lord of the universe?” On being told that he had, tears fell from his eyes. In a version he said God had commanded him to recite to him “Those who disbelieve were not …” (Qur’ān, 98). He asked if He had mentioned him by name, and when he was told that He had, he wept. (Bukhārī and Muslim.)

انس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ابی بن کعب ؓ سے فرمایا :’’ اللہ نے مجھے حکم فرمایا ہے کہ میں تمہیں قرآن سناؤں ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا ، اللہ نے میرا نام لیا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ہاں ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا ، میرا رب العالمین کے ہاں ذکر کیا گیا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ہاں ۔‘‘ (یہ سن کر) ان کی آنکھوں میں (خوشی کے) آنسو بہنے لگے ۔ اور ایک روایت میں ہے :’’ اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں سورۃ البینہ سناؤں ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا ، میرا نام لے کر (آپ کو بتایا ہے) ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ہاں ۔‘‘ پس وہ رونے لگے ۔ متفق علیہ ۔
Anas bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne Ubay bin Ka'b se farmaya: ''Allah ne mujhe hukum farmaya hai ke main tumhen Quran sunaun.'' Unhon ne arz kiya, Allah ne mera naam liya hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Haan.'' Unhon ne arz kiya, mera Rab-ul-alameen ke han zikr kiya gaya hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Haan.'' (Yeh sunkar) un ki aankhon mein (khushi ke) aansu behne lage. Aur ek riwayat mein hai: ''Allah ne mujhe hukum diya hai ke main tumhen Surah al-Baqarah sunaun.'' Unhon ne arz kiya, mera naam lekar (aap ko bataya hai)? Aap ne farmaya: ''Haan.'' Pas woh rone lage. Mutahhidun Alayh.
وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ» قَالَ: آللَّهُ سَمَّانِي لَكَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» . قَالَ: وَقَدْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» . فَذَرَفَتْ عَيْنَاهُ. وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ (لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا)\قَالَ: وَسَمَّانِي؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» . فَبَكَى\
