Ibn ‘Abbās said that God's messenger did not know wheresūraswere to be separated till “In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful,” was sent down. Abū Dāwūd transmitted it.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ کو (بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم) کے نازل ہونے کے بعد سورت کے فرق کا پتہ چلتا تھا ۔ (کہ پہلی سورت مکمل ہو گئی ہے) صحیح ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ko (Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem) ke nazil hone ke baad surat ke faraq ka pata chalta tha. (keh pehli surat mukammal ho gayi hai) Sahih, Riwayat Abu Dawood.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَعْرِفُ فَصْلَ السُّورَةِ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
