Description of the vast mercy of Allah the Most Merciful
بيان وسعة رحمة الله تعالى
Mishkat al-Masabih 2370
‘Umar b. al-Khattab said that captives came to the Prophet among whom was a woman whose breast was oozing with milk. She was running, and when she found a boy among the captives she took him, put him to her breast and suckled him. Then the Prophet said to us, “Do you think this woman will cast her child into the fire?” We replied, “No, so long as is she in a position not to do so.” He said, “God is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

عمر بن خطاب ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، نبی ﷺ کے پاس کچھ قیدی آئے ، ان قیدیوں میں ایک عورت تھی جس کی چھاتی سے دودھ نکل رہا تھا ، وہ دوڑتی پھرتی تھی ، جب وہ قیدیوں میں کوئی بچہ پاتی تو اسے پکڑ کر اپنے پیٹ سے لگاتی اور اسے دودھ پلاتی ، نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں فرمایا :’’ کیا تم گمان کر سکتے ہو یہ عورت اپنے بچے کو آگ میں پھینک دے گی ؟‘‘ ہم نے عرض کیا ، نہیں ، اگر وہ اسے نہ پھینکنے پر قادر ہو ، (تو وہ نہیں پھینکے گی) ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اللہ اپنے بندوں پر اس عورت سے بھی زیادہ مہربان ہے جتنا یہ اپنے بچے پر مہربان ہے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Umar bin Khattab bayan karte hain, Nabi ke paas kuch qaidil aye, in qaidion mein ek aurat thi jis ki chhati se doodh nikal raha tha, woh daurti phirti thi, jab woh qaidion mein koi bachcha pati to use pakar kar apne pet se lagati aur use doodh pilati, Nabi ne humain farmaya: ''Kya tum gumaan kar sakte ho yeh aurat apne bachche ko aag mein phenk degi?'', hum ne arz kiya, nahin, agar woh use na phenkne par qaadir ho, (to woh nahin phenkegi), Aap ne farmaya: ''Allah apne bandon par is aurat se bhi zyada meherban hai jitna yeh apne bachche par meherban hai.'' Mutaffiq alaih.
وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْيٌ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ السَّبْيِ قَدْ تَحَلَّبَ ثديُها تسْعَى إِذا وَجَدَتْ صَبِيًّا فِي السَّبْيِ أَخَذَتْهُ فَأَلْصَقَتْهُ بِبَطْنِهَا وَأَرْضَعَتْهُ فَقَالَ لَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَتُرَوْنَ هَذِهِ طَارِحَةً وَلَدَهَا فِي النَّارِ؟» فَقُلْنَا: لَا وَهِيَ تَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تَطْرَحَهُ فَقَالَ: «لَلَّهُ أَرْحَمُ بِعِبَادِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ بِوَلَدِها»
