Jabir said:When we were near Medina on our return from an expedition in which we had accompanied the Prophet I told him that I had recently married. He asked, “Have you married?" and when I told him that I had, he asked whether I had married a virgin or a woman who had previously been married. On my telling him that it was one who had previously been married he said, “Why did you not marry a virgin with whom you could sport and who could sport with you?" Then when we arrived and were about to enter he said, “Wait so that we may enter by night, i.e. in the evening, in order that the woman with dishevelled hair may comb it and the woman whose husband has been away may get herself ready [for her husband’s enjoyment].’’* (Bukhari and Muslim.) *Tastahiddliterally means to shave the hair on the private parts, and is explained as being used here in the sense or preparing herself for her husband’s enjoyment.

جابر ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ہم نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ ایک غزوہ میں شریک تھے ، جب ہم واپس آئے اور مدینہ کے قریب پہنچے تو میں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! میں نے نئی نئی شادی کی ہے ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ تم نے شادی کر لی ؟‘‘ میں نے عرض کیا : جی ہاں ! آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ کنواری سے یا بیوہ سے ؟‘‘ میں نے عرض کیا : جی ! بیوہ سے ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ تم نے کنواری سے شادی کیوں نہ کی ، تم اس سے کھیلتے اور وہ تم سے کھیلتی ۔‘‘ جب ہم (مدینہ کے) قریب پہنچ گئے اور اس میں داخل ہونے لگے تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ٹھہر جاؤ حتی کہ ہم رات یعنی عشاء کے وقت داخل ہوں گے تاکہ منتشر بالوں والی کنگھی کر لے اور جس کا خاوند غائب رہا ہو وہ زیر ناف بال صاف کر لے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Jabir bayan karte hain, hum Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saath aik ghazwa mein shareek thay, jab hum wapas aaye aur Madina ke qareeb pahunche to main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! main ne nayi nayi shadi ki hai, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum ne shadi kar li?" Main ne arz kiya: "Ji haan!" Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Kanwari se ya bewa se?" main ne arz kiya: "Ji! bewa se." Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum ne kanwari se shadi kyun nahi ki, tum us se khelte aur wo tum se khelti." Jab hum (Madina ke) qareeb pahunche aur us mein dakhil hone lage to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Theher jao hattah ke hum raat yani isha ke waqt dakhil honge takkeh muntashir baalon wali kanghi kar le aur jis ka khaawand ghaaib raha ho wo zer e naaf baal saaf kar le." Muttafiq alaih.
وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ: قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ فَلَمَّا قَفَلْنَا كُنَّا قَرِيبًا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بعرس قَالَ: «تَزَوَّجْتَ؟» قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: «أَبِكْرٌ أَمْ ثَيِّبٌ؟» قُلْتُ: بَلْ ثَيِّبٌ قَالَ: «فَهَلَّا بِكْرًا تلاعبها وتلاعبك» . فَلَمَّا قدمنَا لِنَدْخُلَ فَقَالَ: «أَمْهِلُوا حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ لَيْلًا أَيْ عشَاء لكَي تمتشط الشعثة وتستحد المغيبة»
