‘Amr b. ‘Abasa reported the Prophet as saying, “If anyone builds a mosque that God may be mentioned in it, a house will be built for him in paradise; if anyone emancipates a Muslim, that will be his ransom from jahannam; if anyone develops a grey hair while in 'God’s path, it will be a light for him on the day of resurrection.” It is transmitted inSharh as-sunna.

عمرو بن عبسہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جو شخص مسجد بناتا ہے تاکہ اس میں اللہ کا ذکر کیا جائے تو اس کے لیے جنت میں گھر بنا دیا جاتا ہے ، جو شخص کسی مسلمان کو آزاد کرتا ہے تو یہ اس کا جہنم سے فدیہ بن جاتا ہے ، اور جو شخص اللہ کی راہ میں (تحصیل علم یا جہاد کرتے ہوئے) بوڑھا ہو گیا تو روز قیامت (جب اندھیرے ہوں گے) اس کے لیے نور ہو گا ۔‘‘ صحیح ، فی شرح السنہ ۔
Amr bin Abasa RA se riwayat hai ki Nabi SAW ne farmaya: ''Jo shakhs masjid banata hai taake usme Allah ka zikr kiya jaye to uske liye jannat mein ghar bana diya jata hai, jo shakhs kisi musalman ko azad karta hai to yeh uska jahannum se fidya ban jata hai, aur jo shakhs Allah ki raah mein (tahasil ilm ya jihad karte hue) buddha ho gaya to roz qayamat (jab andhere honge) uske liye noor ho ga.'' Sahih, fi Sharah al-Sunnah.
وَعَن عَمْرو بن عبسة أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِيُذْكَرَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَمَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَفْسًا مُسْلِمَةً كَانَتْ فِدْيَتَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ. وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْم الْقِيَامَة» . رَوَاهُ فِي شرح السّنة
