Ya’ la b. Umayya said:I went with God’s Messenger on the expedition of the army of distress,* and I had a hired servant who fought with a man, one of whom bit the other’s hand. The one who was bitten drew away his hand from the mouth of the one who bit him, dislodging his front tooth which fell out. He went to the Prophet, but he imposed no retaliation for his front tooth, saying, ‘Could he be expected to leave his hand in your mouth when you were crunching it like a male camel?” (Bukhari and Muslim.) * This refers to the expedition to Tabuk in 9 A H. Cf. Al-Qur'an, 9:117.

یعلی بن امیہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے غزوہ تبوک میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ شرکت کی ، میرا ایک نوکر تھا اس کا کسی شخص سے جھگڑا ہو گیا تو ان دونوں میں سے کسی ایک نے دوسرے کا ہاتھ (دانتوں سے) چبا ڈالا تو جس کا ہاتھ تھا اس نے اپنے ہاتھ کو اس کے منہ سے کھینچا تو اس کے سامنے کے دانت گرا دیے ، وہ (شکایت لے کر) نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو آپ ﷺ نے اس کے دانتوں کو رائیگاں قرار دیا اور اس کا بدلہ نہ دلایا اور آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ کیا وہ اپنا ہاتھ تمہارے منہ میں رہنے دیتا تاکہ تم اونٹ کی طرح اسے چبا ڈالتے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Yaali bin Umayah bayan karte hain, main ne Ghazwa Tabook mein Rasool Allah ke saath shirkat ki, mera ek naukar tha us ka kisi shakhs se jhagra ho gaya to in donon mein se kisi ek ne dusre ka haath (danton se) chaba dala to jis ka haath tha us ne apne haath ko us ke munh se khencha to us ke samne ke daant gira diye, woh (shikayat lekar) Nabi ki khidmat mein hazir hua to aap ne us ke danton ko raigan karar diya aur us ka badla na dilaya aur aap ne farmaya: ''Kya woh apna haath tumhare munh mein rehne deta taake tum unt ki tarah use chaba daalte.'' Mutafaqu Alaih.
وَعَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ: غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَيْشَ الْعُسْرَةِ وَكَانَ لِي أَجِيرٌ فقاتلَ إِنساناً فعض أَحدهمَا الْآخَرِ فَانْتَزَعَ الْمَعْضُوضُ يَدَهُ مِنْ فِي الْعَاضِّ فَأَنْدَرَ ثَنِيَّتَهُ فَسَقَطَتْ فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَهْدَرَ ثَنِيَّتَهُ وَقَالَ: «أَيَدَعُ يَدَهُ فِي فِيكَ تَقْضِمُهَا كَالْفَحْلِ»
