Anas told that one morning he took ‘Abdallah b. Abu Talha to God’s messenger for him to chew something and rub his palate with it,* and found him with a branding-iron in his hand branding the camels of thesadaqa. *This was a custom for the purpose of acquiring a blessing for children. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

انس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں عبداللہ بن ابی طلحہ کو رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں لے کر گیا تا کہ آپ ﷺ اسے گھٹی دیں (کھجور چبا کر اِس کے تالو میں لگا دیں) ، میں نے آپ کو دیکھا کہ آپ کے ہاتھ میں داغ لگانے والا آلہ تھا ، آپ ﷺ اس کے ساتھ صدقہ کے اونٹوں کو نشان لگا رہے تھے ۔ متفق علیہ ۔
Anas bayan karte hain, main Abdullah bin Abi Talha ko Rasool Allah ki khidmat mein lekar gaya taake aap use ghutti den (khajoor chaba kar is ke taalu mein laga den), maine aap ko dekha ke aap ke hath mein daagh lagane wala aala tha, aap is ke sath sadaqah ke oonton ko nishan laga rahe the. Muttafiq Alaih.
وَعَن أنس قَالَ: غَدَوْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ لِيُحَنِّكَهُ فَوَافَيْتُهُ فِي يَدِهِ الْمِيسَمُ يَسِمُ إِبِلَ الصَّدَقَة
