It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out of the toilet and food was presented to him. The Companions said, "Shall we not bring you water for ablution?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to perform ablution only when I intend to pray." (This is a sound narration, narrated by Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, and Nasa'i).

ابن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ بیت الخلا سے باہر تشریف لائے تو آپ کی خدمت میں کھانا پیش کیا گیا ۔ صحابہ نے عرض کیا ، کیا ہم آپ کی خدمت میں وضو کا پانی پیش نہ کریں ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ مجھے وضو کا حکم صرف اس وقت دیا گیا ہے جب میں نماز پڑھنے کا ارادہ کروں ۔‘‘ اسنادہ صحیح ، رواہ الترمذی و ابوداؤد و النسائی ۔
Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai keh Nabi bait ul khala se bahar tashreef laaye to aap ki khidmat mein khana pesh kiya gaya. Sahaba ne arz kiya, kya hum aap ki khidmat mein wazu ka pani pesh na karein? Aap ne farmaya: ''Mujhe wazu ka hukum sirf us waqt diya gaya hai jab main namaz parhne ka irada karoon.'' Asnaduhu sahiha, riwayatul Tirmizi wa Abu Dawood wa al-Nasa'i.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْخَلَاءِ فَقُدِّمَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامٌ فَقَالُوا: أَلَا نَأْتِيكَ بِوَضُوءٍ؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ بِالْوُضُوءِ إِذَا قُمْتُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَأَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ
