Description of covering utensils and other items
بيان التحنيط وغيرها من الأشياء
Mishkat al-Masabih 4323
It is narrated on the authority of Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade wearing silk, except for an amount equal to two fingers. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) joined his middle finger and index finger, raised them, and thus clarified the permissible amount. - Agreed upon.

عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ریشم پہننے سے منع فرمایا ، مگر دو انگلیوں کی مقدار کے برابر اجازت فرمائی ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنی درمیانی اور انگشت شہادت کو ملا کر انہیں بلند کر کے اس مقدار کی وضاحت فرمائی ۔ متفق علیہ ۔
Umar RA se riwayat hai ke Nabi SAW ne resham pehenne se mana farmaya, magar do ungliyon ki miqdar ke barabar ijazat farmai, Rasul Allah SAW ne apni darmiyani aur ungusht shahadat ko mila kar unhen buland kar ke is miqdar ki wazahat farmai. Muttafiq alaih.
وَعَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا هَكَذَا وَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إصبعيه: الْوُسْطَى والسبابة وضمهما
