Description of covering utensils and other items
بيان التحنيط وغيرها من الأشياء
Mishkat al-Masabih 4334
It is narrated on the authority of Umm Salama that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mentioned the Izaar (lower garment), she asked him, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling about the Tahband (waist-wrapper) for a woman?" He (ﷺ) said, "She should let it down by a handspan." She said, "Then her feet will be uncovered." He (ﷺ) said, " (She should lower it by) A cubit, but not more than that." Sahih, narrated by Malik, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah.

ام سلمہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ جب آپ ﷺ نے ازار کا تذکرہ فرمایا تو انہوں نے اس وقت رسول اللہ ﷺ سے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! عورت کے لیے تہبند میں کیا حکم ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ وہ ایک بالشت نیچے لٹکائے ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : تب تو اس کے پاؤں ننگے ہونے کا امکان ہے ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ایک ہاتھ ، اور اس سے زیادہ نہیں ۔‘‘ صحیح ، رواہ املک و ابوداؤد و النسائی و ابن ماجہ ۔
Um Salma RA se riwayat hai ke jab aap SAW ne izaar ka tazkara farmaya to unhon ne us waqt Rasul Allah SAW se arz kiya Allah ke Rasul aurat ke liye tahband mein kya hukum hai Aap SAW ne farmaya Woh ek baalisht neeche latkaye Unhon ne arz kiya Tab to uske paon nange hone ka imkaan hai Aap SAW ne farmaya Ek haath aur us se ziada nahi Sahih riwayat Malik o Abu Dawood o al-Nisa'i o Ibn Majah
وَعَن أم سَلمَة قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ ذَكَرَ الْإِزَارَ: فَالْمَرْأَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «تُرْخِي شِبْرًا» فَقَالَتْ: إِذًا تَنْكَشِفُ عَنْهَا قَالَ: «فَذِرَاعًا لَا تَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ» . رَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ وَأَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ وَابْن مَاجَه
