بيان فضل الفقراء ومرور النبي ﷺ
Mishkat al-Masabih 5240
Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he was reclining on a mat made of date palm leaves. He had not spread anything else underneath him, and the marks of the mat were imprinted on his side. He was resting his head on a leather pillow stuffed with date palm fibers. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, invoke Allah to grant prosperity to your Ummah (nation), for the Persians and Romans have been given abundance, though they do not worship Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O son of Khattab, are you still at this level of understanding? Those people (disbelievers) have been given their worldly enjoyments in advance." In another narration, it states, "Are you not content that the world is for them, while the Hereafter is for us?" (Agreed upon)

عمر ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو آپ کھجور کی چٹائی پر لیٹے ہوئے تھے اور آپ نے کوئی بستر وغیرہ نہیں بچھایا ہوا تھا ، اور اس چٹائی کے نشانات آپ کے پہلو پر تھے ، اور آپ نے چمڑے کے تکیے پر ٹیک لگائی ہوئی تھی ، جس میں کھجور کے درخت کے پتے بھرے ہوئے تھے ، میں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! اللہ کے حضور دعا فرمائیں کہ وہ آپ کی امت پر فراخی فرمائے ، کیونکہ فارسیوں اور رومیوں پر بہت نوازشات ہیں ، حالانکہ وہ اللہ کی عبادت نہیں کرتے ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ابن خطاب ! کیا تم ابھی تک اسی مقام پر ہو ؟ یہ (کفار) وہ لوگ ہیں کہ انہیں ان کی لذتیں اس دنیا کی زندگی میں جلد عطا کر دی گئی ہیں ۔‘‘ ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے :’’ کیا تم خوش نہیں کہ ان کے لیے دنیا میں ہوں اور ہمارے لیے آخرت میں ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Umar RA bayan karte hain, main rasool Allah SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hua to aap khajoor ki chatai par lete huye the aur aap ne koi bistar waghera nahi bichhaya hua tha, aur is chatai ke nishanat aap ke pahlu par the, aur aap ne chamray ke takiye par tek lagai hui thi, jis mein khajoor ke darakht ke patte bhare huye the, main ne arz kiya : Allah ke rasool! Allah ke huzoor dua farmaein ki woh aap ki ummat par farakhi farmaye, kyunki farsiyon aur romiyon par bohat nawazishat hain, halaki woh Allah ki ibadat nahi karte. Aap SAW ne farmaya :’’ Ibn-e-Khattab! kya tum abhi tak isi maqam par ho? Ye (kuffar) woh log hain ki unhen un ki lazaten iss duniya ki zindagi mein jald ata kar di gayi hain .‘‘ Aik dusri riwayat mein hai :’’ Kya tum khush nahi ki un ke liye duniya mein hon aur humare liye aakhirat mein.‘‘ Mutaffiq alaih.
وَعَن عمر قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا هُوَ مُضْطَجِعٌ عَلَى رِمَالِ حَصِيرٍ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ فِرَاشٌ قَدْ أَثَّرَ الرِّمَالُ بِجَنْبِهِ مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ. قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ: ادْعُ اللَّهَ فَلْيُوَسِّعْ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ فَإِنَّ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ قَدْ وُسِّعَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ. فَقَالَ: «أَوَ فِي هَذَا أَنْتَ يَا ابْنَ الْخطاب؟ أُولئكَ قوم عجلت لَهُم طيبتاتهم فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا» . وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَنَا الْآخِرَةُ؟» . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
