It is narrated on the authority of Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever's intention is the Hereafter, Allah will make his heart content and independent, and will gather his affairs for him, and the world will come to him, humiliated. And whoever's intention is the world, Allah will put poverty between his eyes, and will scatter his affairs, and he will not get from the world except what has been decreed for him." The chain of narration is weak. Narrated by Tirmidhi.

انس ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جس شخص کی نیت طلب آخرت ہو تو اللہ اس کے دل کو غنی کر دیتا ہے ، اور اس کے معاملے کو مجتمع فرما دیتا ہے اور دنیا ذلیل ہو کر اس کے پاس چلی آتی ہے ، اور جس شخص کی نیت طلب دنیا ہو تو اللہ اس کی پیشانی پر فقر ثبت فرما دیتا ہے ، اس کے معاملے کو منتشر کر دیتا ہے اور دنیا اسے اتنی ہی ملتی ہے جتنی اللہ نے اس کے لیے لکھ دی ہے ۔‘‘ سندہ ضعیف ، رواہ الترمذی ۔
Anas RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi SAW ne farmaya: Jis shakhs ki niyat talab akhirat ho to Allah us ke dil ko ghani kar deta hai, aur us ke mamle ko mujtama farma deta hai aur duniya zalil ho kar us ke pass chali aati hai, aur jis shakhs ki niyat talab duniya ho to Allah us ki peshani par faqr sabit farma deta hai, us ke mamle ko muntashir kar deta hai aur duniya use utni hi milti hai jitni Allah ne us ke liye likh di hai. وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ طَلَبَ الْآخِرَةِ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَجَمَعَ لَهُ شَمْلَهُ وَأَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا وَهِيَ رَاغِمَةٌ وَمَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ طَلَبَ الدُّنْيَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الْفَقْرَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَشَتَّتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَهُ وَلَا يَأْتِيهِ مِنْهَا إِلاَّ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمد
