Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Nearly will the nations call each other against you, just as diners call each other to a dish of food." Someone asked, "Will it be because of our small number that day?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, rather you will be numerous on that day, but you will be like foam on the surface of a torrent. And Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and cast weakness into your hearts." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is weakness?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Love of the world and hatred of death." (Sunan Abi Dawud and Al-Baihaqi in Dala'il an-Nubuwwah)

ثوبان ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ قریب ہے کہ (گمراہ) قومیں تمہارے خلاف (لڑنے کے لیے) دوسری قوموں کو بلائیں جس طرح کھانے والے کھانے کے برتن کی طرف ایک دوسرے کو بلاتے ہیں ۔‘‘ کسی نے عرض کیا : اس روز ہماری تعداد کم ہونے کی وجہ سے ایسے ہو گا ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ نہیں ، بلکہ اس روز تم زیادہ ہو گے ، لیکن تم سیلاب کی جھاگ کی طرح ہو گے ، اللہ تمہارے دشمنوں کے دلوں سے تمہاری ہیبت نکال دے گا اور تمہارے دل میں وہن ڈال دے گا ۔‘‘ کسی نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! وہن کیا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ دنیا سے محبت اور موت سے نفرت ۔‘‘ حسن ، رواہ ابوداؤد و البیھقی فی دلائل النبوۃ ۔
Sobaan (RA) bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: “Qareeb hai ke (gumrah) qaumain tumhare khilaf (larne ke liye) doosri qaumain ko bulayen jis tarah khanewale khane ke bartan ki taraf ek doosre ko bulate hain.” Kisi ne arz kiya: “Iss roz hamari tadad kam hone ki wajah se aise ho ga?” Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: “Nahin, balke iss roz tum zyada ho ge, lekin tum selab ki jhaag ki tarah ho ge, Allah tumhare dushmanon ke dilon se tumhari haibat nikaal de ga aur tumhare dil mein wahn daal de ga.” Kisi ne arz kiya, “Allah ke Rasool! Wahn kya hai?” Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: “Duniya se muhabbat aur maut se nafrat.” Hasan, Riwayat Abu Dawood wa al-Bayhaqi fi Dala’il al-Nubuwwah.
وَعَنْ\ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُوشِكُ الْأُمَمُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الْأَكَلَةُ إِلَى قَصْعَتِهَا» . فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ: وَمِنْ قِلَّةٍ نَحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ: «بَلْ أَنْتُم يَوْمئِذٍ كثير وَلَكِن غُثَاءٌ كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ وَلَيَنْزِعَنَّ اللَّهُ مِنْ صُدُورِ عَدُوِّكُمُ الْمَهَابَةَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَيَقْذِفَنَّ فِي قُلُوبِكُمُ الْوَهْنَ» . قَالَ قَائِلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْوَهْنُ؟ قَالَ: «حُبُّ الدُّنْيَا وَكَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَوْتِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي «شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ»\
