Mishkat al-Masabih 5407
Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The mill of Islam will continue to grind (under the system) for thirty-five, or thirty-six, or thirty-seven years. If they (disagree and disregard religion) choose destruction, then their path is that of those who perished (like previous nations). And if their religion remains established for them, then it will remain for them for seventy years." I asked: "Is (that seventy years) from what remains or from what has passed?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "From what has passed." (Its chain of narration is Hasan, narrated by Abu Dawud)

عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ نبی ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اسلام کی چکی پینتیس یا چھتیس یا سینتیس برس تک (نظام کے تحت) چلتی رہے گی ، اگر انہوں نے (اختلاف کیا اور دین کو بے وقعت سمجھ کر) ہلاکت کو اختیار کیا تو پھر ان کی راہ وہی ہے جو ہلاک ہوئے (جیسے سابقہ امتیں)، اور اگر ان کے لیے ان کا دین قائم رہا تو وہ ان کے لیے ستر سال تک رہے گا ۔‘‘ میں نے عرض کیا : کیا (وہ ستر برس) اس سے ہیں جو باقی رہ گیا یا اس سے ہیں جو گزر چکا ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اس سے جو گزر چکا ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Abdullah bin Masood RA Nabi SAW se riwayat karte hain, Aap SAW ne farmaya: “Islam ki chakki paintees ya chhattees ya sainteees bars tak (nizam ke tahat) chalti rahegi, agar unhon ne (ikhtilaf kiya aur deen ko be waqt samajh kar) halaakat ko ikhtiyar kiya to phir un ki rah wohi hai jo halaak huye (jaise sabiqah ummatien), aur agar un ke liye un ka deen qaim raha to woh un ke liye satar saal tak rahega.” Main ne arz kiya: “Kya (woh satar bars) is se hain jo baqi reh gaya ya is se hain jo guzar chuka?” Aap SAW ne farmaya: “Is se jo guzar chuka.” Isnaadahu hasan, riwayat Abu Dawood.
وَعَنْ\عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «تَدُورُ رَحَى الْإِسْلَامِ لِخَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ سِتٍّ وَثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ سَبْعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ فَإِنْ يَهْلِكُوا فَسَبِيلُ مَنْ هَلَكَ وَإِنْ يَقُمْ لَهُمْ دِينُهُمْ يَقُمْ لَهُمْ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا» . قُلْتُ: أَمِمَّا بَقِيَ أَوْ مِمَّا مَضَى؟ قَالَ: «مِمَّا مضى» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد\
