Mishkat al-Masabih 5408
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Waqid al-Laythi, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, set out for the Battle of Hunayn, he passed by a tree belonging to the polytheists upon which they used to hang their weapons. It was called Dhat Anwat. The Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah, make for us a Dhat Anwat as they have a Dhat Anwat.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said in astonishment, “Glory be to Allah! This is just like what the people of Moses said, ‘Make for us a god just as they have gods.’” By the One in whose hand is my soul, you will surely follow the ways of those who came before you. - Authentic, Sunan al-Tirmidhi.

ابو واقد لیشی ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ جب غزوۂ حنین کے لیے روانہ ہوئے تو آپ ﷺ مشرکین کے ایک درخت کے پاس سے گزرے ، جس پر وہ اپنا اسلحہ لٹکایا کرتے تھے ، اسے ذات انواط کہا جاتا تھا ، صحابہ نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! ہمارے لیے بھی ذات انواط مقرر فرما دیں جس طرح ان کے لیے ذات انواط ہے ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے (تعجب سے) فرمایا :’’ سبحان اللہ ! یہ (بات) تو ایسے ہی ہے جیسے موسیٰ ؑ کی قوم نے کہا تھا :’’ ہمارے لیے بھی ایک معبود مقرر کر دیں جس طرح ان کے معبود ہیں ۔‘‘ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! تم بھی اپنے سے پہلے لوگوں کے طریقوں پر چلو گے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ صحیح ، رواہ الترمذی ۔
Abu Waqid Laithi RA se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah SAW jab Ghazwah Hunain ke liye rawana huye to aap SAW mushrikeen ke ek darakht ke paas se guzre, jis par wo apna aslaha latkaya karte thay, use Zaat Anwat kaha jata tha, sahaba ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! Humare liye bhi Zaat Anwat muqarrar farma den jis tarah unke liye Zaat Anwat hai, Rasool Allah SAW ne (ta'ajjub se) farmaya: "Subhan Allah! Yeh (baat) to aise hi hai jaise Musa AS ki qaum ne kaha tha: 'Humare liye bhi ek mabood muqarrar kar den jis tarah unke mabood hain.'" Iss Zaat ki qasam jis ke haath mein meri jaan hai! Tum bhi apne se pehle logon ke tariqon par chaloge." Isnaadahu Sahih, Riwayatut Tirmizi.
عَن\أبي واقدٍ اللَّيْثِيّ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا خَرَجَ إِلَى غَزْوَةِ حُنَيْنٍ مَرَّ بِشَجَرَةٍ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا يُعَلِّقُونَ عَلَيْهَا أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهَا: ذَاتُ أَنْوَاطٍ. فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اجْعَلْ لَنَا ذَاتَ أَنْوَاطٍ كَمَا لَهُمْ ذَاتُ أَنْوَاطٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ هَذَا كَمَا قَالَ قَوْمُ مُوسَى (اجْعَل لنا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُم آلهةٌ)\وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتَرْكَبُنَّ سُنَنَ مَنْ كَانَ قبلكُمْ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ\
