Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until we reached Asfan. He stayed there for a few days, and some (hypocritical) people said: "We are staying here for no purpose, while our families are behind us, and we fear for them." When this was reported to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul! Two angels are guarding every valley and every pass of Medina until you return there." Then he said: "Set out!" So we set out and returned to Medina. By the One in whose hand is my soul! We had not yet unloaded our luggage when the Banu 'Abd Allah bin Ghatafan attacked us. Nothing had prompted them to do so before. [Muslim]

ابوسعید خدری ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ہم نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ روانہ ہوئے حتیٰ کہ ہم عسفان پہنچے تو آپ نے چند روز وہاں قیام فرمایا ، تو بعض (منافق) لوگوں نے کہا : یہاں تو ہم بلا مقصد ٹھہرے ہیں ، ہمارے اہل و عیال پیچھے ہیں ، ہمیں ان کا خطرہ ہے ، نبی ﷺ تک یہ بات پہنچی تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! مدینہ کی ہر گھاٹی اور ہر درے پر دو فرشتے پہرہ دے رہے ہیں حتیٰ کہ تم وہاں واپس چلے جاؤ ۔‘‘ پھر فرمایا :’’ کوچ کرو ۔‘‘ ہم نے کوچ کیا اور مدینہ کی طرف واپس پلٹے ، اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! جب ہم مدینہ میں داخل ہوئے تو ہم نے ابھی اپنا سامان نہیں اتارا تھا کہ بنو عبداللہ بن غطفان نے ہم پر حملہ کر دیا ، اس سے پہلے کوئی چیز انہیں آمادہ نہیں کرتی تھی ۔ رواہ مسلم ۔
Abu Saeed Khudri bayan karte hain, hum Nabi ke saath rawana huay hatta ke hum Asfan pahunche to aap ne chand roz wahan qayam farmaya, to baaz (munafiq) logon ne kaha: yahan to hum bila maqsad thehre hain, hamare ahal o ayaal peechhe hain, hamen un ka khatra hai, Nabi tak yeh baat pahunchi to aap ne farmaya: ''Iss Zaat ki qasam jis ke haath mein meri jaan hai! Madina ki har ghati aur har dare par do farishte pehra de rahe hain hatta ke tum wahan wapas chale jao.'' Phir farmaya: ''Kooch karo.'' Hum ne kooch kiya aur Madina ki taraf wapas palte, iss Zaat ki qasam jis ke haath mein meri jaan hai! Jab hum Madina mein daakhil huay to hum ne abhi apna saman nahin utara tha ke Banu Abdullah bin Ghatfan ne hum par hamla kar diya, iss se pehle koi cheez unhen aamada nahin karti thi. Rawah Muslim.
وَعَنْ\أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا عُسْفَانَ فَأَقَامَ بِهَا لَيَالِيَ فَقَالَ النَّاس: مَا نَحن هَهُنَا فِي شَيْءٍ وَإِنَّ عِيَالَنَا لَخُلُوفٌ مَا نَأْمَنُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا فِي الْمَدِينَةِ شِعْبٌ وَلَا نَقْبٌ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكَانِ يَحْرُسَانِهَا حَتَّى تَقْدَمُوا إِلَيْهَا» ثُمَّ قَالَ: «ارْتَحِلُوا» فَارْتَحَلْنَا وَأَقْبَلْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَوَالَّذِي يُحْلَفُ بِهِ مَا وَضَعْنَا رِحَالَنَا حِينَ دَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ حَتَّى أَغَارَ عَلَيْنَا بَنُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَطَفَانَ وَمَا يُهَيِّجُهُمْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ\
