Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) between Mecca and Medina, and we were looking for the new moon. My eyesight was sharp, so I saw it, and no one else said that they had seen it except me. I said to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "Don't you see it?" He could not see it. The narrator said: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I will see it soon." I was lying on my bed when he began to tell us about the people of Badr. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had told them the day before about the places where the disbelievers would be killed at Badr, saying, "Tomorrow, if Allah wills, so-and-so will be killed here, and tomorrow, if Allah wills, so-and-so will be killed here." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By the One who sent you with the truth! There was no difference at all between the places the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had indicated and where they were killed (they were killed in exactly the same places)." The narrator said: They were all thrown into a well, one on top of the other. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came there and said, "O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Did you find what Allah and His Messenger promised you to be true? For I have found what my Lord promised me to be true." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! How can you speak to lifeless bodies?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "They hear what I am saying to them better than you do, but they cannot answer me." [Sahih Muslim].

انس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ہم عمر ؓ کے ساتھ مکہ اور مدینہ کے درمیان تھے ، ہم نے چاند دیکھنے کا اہتمام کیا ، میری نظر تیز تھی ، لہذا میں نے اسے دیکھ لیا ، اور میرے سوا کسی نے نہ کہا کہ اس نے اسے دیکھا ہے ، میں عمر ؓ سے کہنے لگا : کیا آپ اسے دیکھ نہیں رہے ؟ وہ اسے نہیں دیکھ پا رہے تھے ، راوی بیان کرتے ہیں ، عمر ؓ فرمانے لگے ، میں عنقریب اسے دیکھ لوں گا ۔ میں اپنے بستر پر لیٹا ہوا تھا ، پھر انہوں نے اہل بدر کے متعلق ہمیں بتانا شروع کیا ، انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ بدر کے موقع پر کفار کے قتل گاہوں کے متعلق ایک روز پہلے ہی بتا رہے تھے :’’ کل ان شاء اللہ یہاں فلاں قتل ہو گا ، اور کل ان شاء اللہ یہاں فلاں قتل ہو گا ۔‘‘ عمر ؓ نے فرمایا : اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ مبعوث فرمایا ! رسول اللہ ﷺ نے جس جس جگہ کی نشان دہی فرمائی تھی اس میں ذرا بھی فرق نہیں آیا تھا (وہ وہیں وہیں قتل ہوئے تھے) راوی بیان کرتے ہیں ، ان سب کو ایک دوسرے پر کنویں میں ڈال دیا گیا پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ وہاں تشریف لائے اور فرمایا :’’ اے فلاں بن فلاں ! ، اے فلاں بن فلاں ! اللہ اور اس کے رسول نے تم سے جو وعدہ فرمایا تھا کیا تم نے اسے سچا پایا ، کیونکہ اللہ نے مجھ سے جو وعدہ فرمایا تھا میں نے تو اسے سچا پایا ہے ؟‘‘ عمر ؓ نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! آپ بے روح جسموں سے کیسے کلام فرما رہے ہیں ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ میں ان سے جو کہہ رہا ہوں وہ اسے تم سے زیادہ سن رہے ہیں لیکن وہ مجھے کسی چیز کا جواب نہیں دے سکتے ۔‘‘ رواہ مسلم ۔
Anas bayan karte hain, hum Umar ke sath Makkah aur Madina ke darmiyaan the, hum ne chand dekhne ka ehtimaam kiya, meri nazar tez thi, lihaza maine use dekh liya, aur mere siwa kisi ne nah kaha ke usne use dekha hai, main Umar se kehne laga : kya aap use dekh nahin rahe? Woh use nahin dekh pa rahe the, ravi bayan karte hain, Umar farmane lage, main anqareeb use dekh lun ga. Main apne bistar par leta hua tha, phir unhon ne Ahl e Badr ke mutalliq humain batana shuru kiya, unhon ne kaha ke Rasul Allah Badr ke mauqe par kuffar ke qatal gahon ke mutalliq ek roz pehle hi bata rahe the :’’ kal in sha Allah yahan falan qatl ho ga, aur kal in sha Allah yahan falan qatl ho ga.‘‘ Umar ne farmaya : iss zaat ki qasam jisne aap ko haq ke sath mab'oos farmaya! Rasul Allah ne jis jis jagah ki nishan dehi farmaai thi usme zara bhi farq nahin aaya tha (woh wahin wahin qatl hue the) ravi bayan karte hain, in sab ko ek dusre par kuen mein daal diya gaya phir Rasul Allah wahan tashreef laaye aur farmaya :’’ aye falan bin falan!, aye falan bin falan! Allah aur uske Rasul ne tum se jo waada farmaya tha kya tumne use sacha paya, kyunki Allah ne mujh se jo waada farmaya tha maine to use sacha paya hai?‘‘ Umar ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasul! Aap bay ruh jismon se kaise kalaam farma rahe hain? Aap ne farmaya :’’ main in se jo keh raha hun woh ise tum se zyada sun rahe hain lekin woh mujhe kisi cheez ka jawab nahin de sakte.‘‘ Rawah Muslim.
وَعَنْ\أَنَسٍ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ عُمَرَ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ فَتَرَاءَيْنَا الْهِلَالَ وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا حَدِيدَ الْبَصَرِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ غَيْرِي قَالَ فجعلتُ أقولُ لعُمر أما ترَاهُ فَجعل لَا يَرَاهُ قَالَ يَقُولُ عُمَرُ سَأَرَاهُ وَأَنَا مُسْتَلْقٍ عَلَى فِرَاشِي ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنْ أَهْلِ بدر فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُرِينَا مَصَارِعَ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ بِالْأَمْسِ يَقُولُ هَذَا مَصْرَعُ فُلَانٍ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ الله قَالَ فَقَالَ عمر فوالذي بَعثه بِالْحَقِّ مَا أخطئوا الْحُدُود الَّتِي حد رَسُول الله صلى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلم قَالَ فَجُعِلُوا فِي بِئْرٍ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ يَا فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ وَيَا فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ حَقًّا فَإِنِّي قَدْ وَجَدْتُ مَا وَعَدَني الله حَقًا قَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ تُكَلِّمُ أَجْسَادًا لَا أَرْوَاحَ فِيهَا قَالَ مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَسْمَعَ لِمَا أَقُولُ مِنْهُمْ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ أَن يَردُّوا عليَّ شَيْئا . رَوَاهُ مُسلم\
