Description of the virtues of Hazrat Umar (RA)
بيان مناقب حضرة عمر رضي الله عنه

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicated, "O Allah! Make Islam dominant through either Abu Jahl bin Hisham or Umar bin Khattab." When morning came, Umar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the first part of the day and embraced Islam. Then, he prayed openly in the mosque. (This narration is) weak, narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.

ابن عباس ؓ نبی ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے دعا فرمائی : اے اللہ ! اسلام کو ابوجہل بن ہشام یا عمر بن خطاب کے ذریعے غلبہ عطا فرما ۔‘‘ صبح ہوئی تو عمر پہلے پہر نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ، اور اسلام قبول کیا ، پھر آپ نے مسجد میں علانیہ نماز ادا فرمائی ۔ ضعیف ، رواہ احمد و الترمذی ۔
Ibn Abbas RA Nabi SAW se riwayat karte hain, aap SAW ne dua farmaai: Aye Allah! Islam ko Abu Jehal bin Hisham ya Umar bin Khattab ke zariye ghalba ata farma. Subah hui to Umar pehle pahar Nabi SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hue, aur Islam qubool kiya, phir aap ne masjid mein alaniya namaz ada farmaai. Zaeef, Rawah Ahmad o Tirmizi.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بِأَبِي جَهْلِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ أَوْ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ» فَأَصْبَحَ عُمَرُ فَغَدَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْلَمَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ظَاهرا. رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ
