Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that there came a person to the Apostle of Allah ( صلى ہللاعليه و آله وسلم) and said: Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), which charity is the best? Upon this he said: ‘that you should give charity (in a state when you are) healthy and close-fisted, one haunted by the fear of poverty, hoping to become rich (charity in such a state of health and mind is the best). And you must not defer (charity to such a length) that you are about to die and would he be saying: ‘this is for so and so, and this is for so and so. When, infact, it has already come into (the possession of so and so as inheritance).
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور پوچھا اے اللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! کس صدقہ کا اجر زیادہ ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تیرا اس حال میں صدقہ کرنا کہ تو تندرست اور حریص ہے تمھیں فقر کا اندیشہ ہے اور تونگری کی امید ہے اور تاخیر نہ کر حتی کہ جب تیری جان حلق میں پہنچ جائے تو کہنے لگو اتنا فلاں کا ہے اور اتنا فلاں کا ہے اب تو فلاں (وارث) کا ہو چکا ہے۔“
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke ek aadmi Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur poocha Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! kis sadqa ka ajr ziyada hai? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Tera is haal mein sadqa karna ke tu tandurust aur harees hai tumhein faqr ka andesha hai aur tongari ki umeed hai aur takheer na kar hatta ke jab teri jaan halq mein pohanch jaye toh kehne lago itna falan ka hai aur itna falan ka hai ab toh falan (waris) ka ho chuka hai."
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَعْظَمُ فَقَالَ " أَنْ تَصَدَّقَ وَأَنْتَ صَحِيحٌ شَحِيحٌ تَخْشَى الْفَقْرَ وَتَأْمُلُ الْغِنَى وَلاَ تُمْهِلْ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ قُلْتَ لِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا وَلِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا أَلاَ وَقَدْ كَانَ لِفُلاَنٍ " .
