Chapter: Starting with oneself, then one's family, then one's relatives, when spending
باب الاِبْتِدَاءِ فِي النَّفَقَةِ بِالنَّفْسِ ثُمَّ أَهْلِهِ ثُمَّ الْقَرَابَةِ ‏‏

Chapter: The virtue of spending and giving charity to relatives, spuses, children and parents, even if they are idolaters
باب فَضْلِ النَّفَقَةِ وَالصَّدَقَةِ عَلَى الْأَقْرَبِينَ وَالزَّوْجِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ وَالْوَالِدَيْنِ وَلَوْ كَانُوا مُشْرِكِينَ

Chapter: Charity given on behalf of the deceased will reach him
باب وُصُولِ ثَوَابِ الصَّدَقَةِ عَنِ الْمَيِّتِ، إِلَيْهِ ‏‏

باب الْحَثِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ أَوْ كَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَأَنَّهَا حِجَابٌ مِنْ النَّارِ

Chapter: Carrying goods for payment and giving charity out of one's wages, and the stern prohibition of belittling the one who gives something small in charity
باب الْحَمْلِ بِأُجْرَةٍ يُتَصَدَّقُ بِهَا وَالنَّهْىِ الشَّدِيدِ عَنْ تَنْقِيصِ الْمُتَصَدِّقِ بِقَلِيل

Chapter: The reward of the Trustworthy Trustee, and if a woman gives charity from her husband's house without causing any damage, with his explicit or implicit permission
باب أَجْرِ الْخَازِنِ الأَمِينِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا تَصَدَّقَتْ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا غَيْرَ مُفْسِدَةٍ ب

باب الْحَثِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ وَلَوْ بِالْقَلِيلِ وَلاَ تُمْتَنَعُ مِنَ الْقَلِيلِ لاِحْتِقَارِهِ ‏

Chapter: The virtue of concealing (what is given in) charity
باب فَضْلِ إِخْفَاءِ الصَّدَقَةِ ‏

Chapter: The best of charity is that which is given when one is healthy and inclined to be stingy
باب بَيَانِ أَنَّ أَفْضَلَ الصَّدَقَةِ صَدَقَةُ الصَّحِيحِ الشَّحِيحِ ‏

Chapter: The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and the upper hand is the one that gives and the lower hand is the one that receives
باب بَيَانِ أَنَّ الْيَدَ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَأَنَّ الْيَدَ الْعُلْيَا هِيَ الْمُنْفِقَةُ وَأَنَّ السُّفْلَى هِيَ الْآخِذَةُ

Chapter: The poor person who cannot find enough to make him independent of means, but the people do not realize that he is in need, so they do not give Charity to him
باب الْمِسْكِينِ الَّذِي لاَ يَجِدُ غِنًى وَلاَ يُفْطَنُ لَهُ فَيُتَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِ ‏

Chapter: It is disliked to beg from people
باب كَرَاهَةِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ لِلنَّاسِ ‏

Chapter: The one for whom it is permissible to ask for help
باب مَنْ تَحِلُّ لَهُ الْمَسْأَلَةُ ‏

Chapter: It is permissible to take without asking for it or hoping for it
باب إِبَاحَةِ الأَخْذِ لِمَنْ أُعْطِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ وَلاَ إِشْرَافٍ ‏

Chapter: It is disliked to be eager to acquire worldly gains
باب كَرَاهَةِ الْحِرْصِ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا ‏

Chapter: If the Son of Adam had two valleys, he would desire a third
باب لَوْ أَنَّ لاِبْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ لاَبْتَغَى ثَالِثًا ‏

Chapter: The virtue of contentment and encouragement thereof
باب لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ

Chapter: Warning against being deceived by the splendor and luxury of this world
باب تَخَوُّفِ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ زَهْرَةِ الدُّنْيَا ‏

Chapter: Giving to those whose hearts have been inclined (towards Islam) and to those for whose faith there is fear if they are not given anything, and putting up with the one who asks rudely due to ignorance, and the Khawarij and rulings regarding them
باب إِعْطَاءِ مَنْ سَأَلَ بِفُحْشٍ وَغِلْظَةٍ ‏

Chapter: Giving to one whose faith one fears
باب إِعْطَاءِ مَنْ يُخَافُ عَلَى إِيمَانِهِ ‏

Chapter: Giving to those whose hearts have been inclined (towards Islam) and urging those whose faith is strong to show patience
باب إِعْطَاءِ الْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ وَتَصَبُّرِ مَنْ قَوِيَ إِيمَانُهُ ‏

باب تَحْرِيمِ الزَّكَاةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَهُمْ بَنُو هَاشِمٍ وَبَنُو الْمُطَّلِبِ دُونَ غَيْرِهِمْ

Chapter: Not appointing the family of the prophet (saws) in charge of charity
باب تَرْكِ اسْتِعْمَالِ آلِ النَّبِيِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ ‏
