Malik al-Ashja'i (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we, nine, eight or seven men, were in the company of the Apostle of Allah ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) and he said, ‘why don't you pledge allegiance to the Apostle of Allah while we had recently pledged allegiance. So, we said, Apostle of Allah ( صلى ہللاعليه و آله وسلم), we have already pledged allegiance to you. He again said, ‘why don't you pledge allegiance to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)? And we said, Apostle of Allah ( صلى ہللاعليه و آله وسلم), we have already pledged allegiance to you. He again said, ‘why don't you pledge allegiance to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)? We stretched our hands and said, Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) we have already pledged allegiance to you. Now tell (on what things) should we pledge allegiance to you. He said I (you must pledge allegiance) that you would worship Allah only and would not associate with Him anything, (and observe) five prayers, and obey - (and he said one thing in an undertone) – (and) that you would not beg people of anything. (Later) I saw some of these people did not ask anyone to pick up the whip for them if it fell down.
ابو مسلم خالانی کہتے ہیں مجھے محبوب قابل اعتماد جو مجھے محبوب بھی ہے اور میرے نزدیک امانتدار بھی ہے عوف بن مالک اشجعی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بتایا کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس نو آٹھ یا ساتھ آدمی تھے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا تم اللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت نہیں کرو گے؟ اور ہم نے نئی نئی بیعت کی تھی۔ تو ہم نے عرض کیاصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اے اللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! ہم آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کر چکے ہیں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا تم اللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت نہیں کرو گے؟“ تو ہم نے اپنے ہاتھ بڑھا دئیے اور عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہم بیعت کر چکے ہیں اب کس بات کے لیے بیعت کریں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس بات پر کہ تم اللہ کی عبادت کرو گے اور اس کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک نہیں ٹھہراؤ گے اور پانچ نمازوں کا اہتمام کرو گے اور فرمانبرداری اختیار کرو گے“ اور ایک بات آہستہ سے فرمائی ”اور لوگوں سے کوئی چیز بھی نہیں مانگو گے“ تو میں نے ان میں سے بعض ساتھیوں کو دیکھا ان میں سے کسی کا کوڑا گر جاتا تو کسی سے اس کے اٹھا دینے (پکڑا دینے) کے لیے نہ کہتا۔
Abu Muslim Khaulani kehte hain mujhe mehboob qabil-e-itmad jo mujhe mehboob bhi hai aur mere nazdeek amanatdar bhi hai Auf bin Malik Ashjai (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ne bataya ke hum Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke paas nau, aath ya saath aadmi thay toh Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: kya tum Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se baiat nahi karo gay? Aur hum ne nayi nayi baiat ki thi. Toh hum ne arz kiya Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! hum Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se baiat kar chukay hain Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Kya tum Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se baiat nahi karo gay?" Toh hum ne apne hath barha diye aur arz kiya Ya Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) hum baiat kar chukay hain ab kis baat ke liye baiat karein? Aap ne farmaya: "Is baat par ke tum Allah ki ibadat karo gay aur is ke sath kisi cheez ko shareek nahi thehrao gay aur panch namazon ka ihtimam karo gay aur farmanbardari ikhtiyar karo gay" aur ek baat aahista se farmayi "aur logon se koi cheez bhi nahi mango gay" toh main ne un mein se baaz sathiyon ko dekha un mein se kisi ka kora gir jata toh kisi se us ke utha daine (pakra daine) ke liye na kehta.
