Abu Burda (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported on the authority of his father, we offered the sunset prayer along with Allah's Apostle (ْصلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). We then said, if we sit (along with Allah's Apostle ﷺ) and observe night prayer with him it would be very good, so we sat down, and he came to us and said, you are still sitting here. I said, Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), we observed evening prayer with you, then we said, let us sit down and observe night prayer along with you, whereupon he said, you have done well, or you have done right. He then lifted his head towards the sky, and it often happened that as he lifted his head towards the sky, he said, the stars are a source of security for the sky and when the stars disappear there comes to the sky, (it meets the same fate) as it has been promised (it would plunge into darkness). And I am a source of safety and security to my Companions and when I would go away there would fall to the lot (of my Companions) as they have been promised with and my Companions are a source of security for the Umma and as they would go there would fall to the lot of my Umma as (its people) have been promised.
حضرت ابوبردہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اپنے باپ(ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے بیان کرتے ہیں ہم نے مغرب کی نماز رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پڑھی، پھر ہم نے کہا کہ اگر ہم بیٹھے رہیں یہاں تک کہ عشاء آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پڑھیں تو بہتر ہو گا۔ پھر ہم بیٹھے رہے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم باہر تشریف لائے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم یہیں بیٹھے رہے ہو؟ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ جی ہاں یا رسول اللہ! ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز مغرب پڑھی، پھر ہم نے کہا کہ اگر ہم بیٹھے رہیں یہاں تک کہ عشاء کی نماز بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پڑھیں تو بہتر ہو گا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم نے اچھا کیا یا ٹھیک کیا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اکثر اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا کرتے تھے، پھر فرمایا کہ ستارے آسمان کے بچاؤ ہیں، جب ستارے مٹ جائیں گے تو آسمان پر بھی جس بات کا وعدہ ہے وہ آ جائے گی (یعنی قیامت آ جائے گی اور آسمان بھی پھٹ کر خراب ہو جائے گا)۔ اور میں اپنے اصحاب کا بچاؤ ہوں۔ جب میں چلا جاؤں گا تو میرے اصحاب پر بھی وہ وقت آ جائے گا جس کا وعدہ ہے (یعنی فتنہ اور فساد اور لڑائیاں)۔ اور میرے اصحاب میری امت کے بچاؤ ہیں۔ جب اصحاب چلے جائیں گے تو میری امت پر وہ وقت آ جائے گا جس کا وعدہ ہے (یعنی اختلاف و انتشار وغیرہ)۔
Hazrat Abu Burdah (Razi Allahu Anhu) apne baap (Abu Musa Ash'ari Razi Allahu Anhu) se bayan karte hain hum ne Maghrib ki namaz Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saath padhi, phir hum ne kaha ke agar hum baithe rahen yahan tak ke Isha aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saath padhen to behtar hoga. Phir hum baithe rahe aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) bahar tashreef laye. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya ke tum yahin baithe rahe ho? Hum ne arz kiya ke ji haan Ya Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! Hum ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saath namaz-e-Maghrib padhi, phir hum ne kaha ke agar hum baithe rahen yahan tak ke Isha ki namaz bhi Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saath padhen to behtar hoga. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya ke tum ne acha kiya ya theek kiya. Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne apna sar aasman ki taraf uthaya aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) aksar apna sar aasman ki taraf uthaya karte the, phir farmaya ke sitare aasman ke bachao hain, jab sitare mit jayenge to aasman par bhi jis baat ka waada hai woh aa jayegi (yani Qayamat aa jayegi aur aasman bhi phat kar kharab ho jayega). Aur main apne ashab ka bachao hun. Jab main chala jaunga to mere ashab par bhi woh waqt aa jayega jis ka waada hai (yani fitnah aur fasad aur ladaiyan). Aur mere ashab meri ummat ke bachao hain. Jab ashab chale jayenge to meri ummat par woh waqt aa jayega jis ka waada hai (yani ikhtilaf-o-intishar wagairah).
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ، - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ، - عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ صَلَّيْنَا الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لَوْ جَلَسْنَا حَتَّى نُصَلِّيَ مَعَهُ الْعِشَاءَ - قَالَ - فَجَلَسْنَا فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ " مَا زِلْتُمْ هَا هُنَا " . قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَكَ الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا نَجْلِسُ حَتَّى نُصَلِّيَ مَعَكَ الْعِشَاءَ قَالَ " أَحْسَنْتُمْ أَوْ أَصَبْتُمْ " . قَالَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَكَانَ كَثِيرًا مِمَّا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقَالَ " النُّجُومُ أَمَنَةٌ لِلسَّمَاءِ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَتِ النُّجُومُ أَتَى السَّمَاءَ مَا تُوعَدُ وَأَنَا أَمَنَةٌ لأَصْحَابِي فَإِذَا ذَهَبْتُ أَتَى أَصْحَابِي مَا يُوعَدُونَ وَأَصْحَابِي أَمَنَةٌ لأُمَّتِي فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ أَصْحَابِي أَتَى أُمَّتِي مَا يُوعَدُونَ " .
