Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying, you would find people like those of mine, the good amongst you in the Days of Ignorance would be good amongst you in the days of Islam, provided they have an understanding of it and you will find good amongst people the persons who would be averse to position of authority until it is thrust upon them, and you will find the worst amongst persons one who has double face. He comes with one face to them and with the other face to the others.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم لوگوں کو معدنیات کی طرح پاؤ گے۔ تو جو لوگ جاہلیت کے دورمیں بہتر تھے وہ اسلام کےدورمیں بھی بہتر ہیں بشرط یہ کہ دین کی سوجھ بوجھ حاصل کرلیں،یا اس میں ملکہ پیدا کرلیں اور تم دین کے معاملہ یا حکومت واقتدار میں ان لوگوں کوبہتر پاؤگے،جواس کو سب سے زیادہ ناپسند کرتے تھے،جبکہ وہ اس میں داخل نہیں ہوئےتھے اور تم بدترین لوگ ان کوپاؤگے،جودورخے ہیں،جن کے دو چہرے ہیں،جو ان لوگوں کے پاس ایک چہرے سے آتے ہیں اور ان کے پاس دوسرے چہرے سے۔"
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain, ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: Tum logon ko maadniyat ki tarah paoge. To jo log jahiliyat ke daur mein behtar the woh Islam ke daur mein bhi behtar hain bashart yeh ke deen ki soojh boojh hasil kar len, ya us mein malika paida kar len aur tum deen ke muamla ya hukoomat-o-iqtidar mein un logon ko behtar paoge, jo us ko sab se zyada napasand karte the, jabke woh us mein dakhil nahin hue the aur tum badtareen log un ko paoge, jo do-rukhe hain, jin ke do chehre hain, jo un logon ke paas ek chehre se aate hain aur un ke paas doosre chehre se."
حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " تَجِدُونَ النَّاسَ مَعَادِنَ فَخِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ إِذَا فَقُهُوا وَتَجِدُونَ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ فِي هَذَا الأَمْرِ أَكْرَهُهُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقَعَ فِيهِ وَتَجِدُونَ مِنْ شِرَارِ النَّاسِ ذَا الْوَجْهَيْنِ الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ وَهَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ " .
