باب الْكَشْفِ عَنْ مَعَايِبِ، رُوَاةِ الْحَدِيثِ وَنَقَلَةِ الأَخْبَارِ وَقَوْلِ الأَئِمَّةِ فِي ذَلِكَ
Sahih Muslim Introduction 72
Ubayd Allah bin Mu’ādh al-Anbarī narrated to me, my father narrated to us, he said:‘I wrote to Shu’bah asking him about Abū Shaybah , a judge of Wāsit, so he wrote to me: ‘Do not write anything from him [of Ḥadīth] and tear up my letter [to you about this]’.
معاذ عنبریؒ کہتے ہیں: میں نے قاضی واسط ابو شعبہ کے بارے میں شعبہؒ کو خط لکھ کر پوچھا، انھوں نے مجھے جواب لکھ کر بھیجا: ”اس سے کوئی حدیث نہ لکھو اور میرا خط چاک کردو۔“ (تاکہ وہ اس خط کے سبب مجھے نشانہ نہ بنائے۔)
Ma'az Anbari (Rahmatullahi Alaih) kehte hain: Main ne Qazi-e-Wasit Abu Shu'ba ke baare mein Shu'ba (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ko khat likh kar pucha, unhon ne mujhe jawab likh kar bheja: "Is se koi hadith na likho aur mera khat chaak kar do." (Taake woh is khat ke sabab mujhe nishana na banaye.)
حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ، كَتَبْتُ إِلَى شُعْبَةَ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَاضِي وَاسِطٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَىَّ لاَ تَكْتُبْ عَنْهُ شَيْئًا وَمَزِّقْ كِتَابِي .
