Sahih Muslim 1177b
Salim narrated on the authority of his father (Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was asked what a Muhrim should wear. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘a Muhrim should not wear a shirt, or a turban, or a cap, or trousers, or a cloth touched with wars or with saffron, nor (should he wear) stockings. But if he does not find shoes, he can wear stocking, but (before wearing stockings) he should trim them so that these should not become lower than the ankles.
حضرت سالم اپنے باپ (ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہما) سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دریافت کیا گیا، محرم کس قسم کا لباس پہن سکتا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”محرم، قمیص نہ پہنے، عمامہ نہ باندھے نہ برانی (برساتی) پہنے نہ شلوار پاجامہ پہنے اور نہ ایسا کپڑا پہنے جسے ورس یا زعفران لگا ہو اور نہ موزے پہنے، اگر وہ جوتے نہ پائے تو موزے پہن لے اور انہیں ٹخنوں کے نیچے سے کاٹ لے۔“
Hazrat Salim apne baap (Ibn Umar (Radiallahu Anhuma)) se bayan karte hain ke Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se daryaft kiya gaya, muharram kis qism ka libas pehan sakta hai? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Muharram, qamees na pehne, imama na bandhe na barani (barsati) pehne na shalwar pajama pehne aur na aisa kapda pehne jise wars ya zafraan laga ho aur na mozay pehne, agar woh joote na paye to mozay pehan le aur unhein takhno ke niche se kaat le."
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، - قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، - عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَا يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ قَالَ " لاَ يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ الْقَمِيصَ وَلاَ الْعِمَامَةَ وَلاَ الْبُرْنُسَ وَلاَ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَلاَ ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ وَرْسٌ وَلاَ زَعْفَرَانٌ وَلاَ الْخُفَّيْنِ إِلاَّ أَنْ لاَ يَجِدَ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ " .
