Chapter: If a person thinks of doing a good deed it will be recorded for him, and if he thinks of doing a bad deed it will not be recorded for him

باب إِذَا هَمَّ الْعَبْدُ بِحَسَنَةٍ كُتِبَتْ وَإِذَا هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ لَمْ تُكْتَبْ
Sahih Muslim 131b
The above Hadith has been narrated with another chain of transmitters with the addition of these words : Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) would even wipe out (the evil committed by a man) and Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) does not put to destruction anyone except he who is doomed to destruction.
امام صاحبؒ ایک اور سند سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں اور اس میں یہ اضافہ ہے: ”اور اللہ اسے مٹا دیتا ہے اور اللہ کے ہاں صرف ہلاک ہونے والا ہی ہلاک ہوتا ہے (کہ اللہ کے اس قدرفضل و کرم کے باوجود تباہی سے نہ بچ سکا۔)“
Imam Sahab (Rahmatullah Alaih) ek aur sanad se mazkoora bala riwayat bayan karte hain aur is mein yeh izafa hai: "Aur Allah ise mita deta hai aur Allah ke haan sirf halak hone wala hi halak hota hai (ke Allah ke is qadar fazl-o-karam ke bawajood tabahi se na bach saka)."
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الْجَعْدِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ . وَزَادَ " وَمَحَاهَا اللَّهُ وَلاَ يَهْلِكُ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلاَّ هَالِكٌ " .
