Sahih Muslim 1476a
Ummul Momineen A'isha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sought our permission when he had a (turn to spend) a day with (one of his wives) amongst us (whereas he wanted to visit his other wives too). It was after this that this verse was revealed – [(O' Prophet ﷺ) You can postpone (the turn for your company) whom you will, of them (your wives), and you may receive to you whom you will. There is no blame on you if you desire any of those whom you have set aside (temporarily).] (Al-Ahzaab – 51). Mu'adha said to her, what did you say to Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) when he sought your permission? She said, I used to say, if it had the option in this I would not have (allowed anyone) to have precedence over me.
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں کہ جب ہم میں سے کسی بیوی کی باری ہوتی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہم سے اجازت لے کر دوسری کے پاس جاتے، حالانکہ یہ آیت نازل ہو چکی تھی۔ ان میں سے جس کو چاہیں الگ رکھیں اور جس کو چاہیں اپنے پاس جگہ دیں۔ (سورۃ احزاب: 51)
Hazrat Aisha (Razi Allahu Anha) bayan karti hain ke jab hum mein se kisi biwi ki baari hoti to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) hum se ijazat le kar doosri ke paas jaate, halanke yeh aayat nazil ho chuki thi. In mein se jis ko chahen alag rakhen aur jis ko chahen apne paas jagah den. (Surah Ahzab: 51)
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ الْعَدَوِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْتَأْذِنُنَا إِذَا كَانَ فِي يَوْمِ الْمَرْأَةِ مِنَّا بَعْدَ مَا نَزَلَتْ { تُرْجِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوِي إِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ} فَقَالَتْ لَهَا مُعَاذَةُ فَمَا كُنْتِ تَقُولِينَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَكِ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ ذَاكَ إِلَىَّ لَمْ أُوثِرْ أَحَدًا عَلَى نَفْسِي .
