Chapter: Clarifying the time when faith will no longer be accepted

باب بَيَانِ الزَّمَنِ الَّذِي لاَ يُقْبَلُ فِيهِ الإِيمَانُ
Sahih Muslim 157a
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : The (Last) Hour shall not come till the sun rises from the place of its setting. And on the day when it rises from the place of its setting even if all the people together affirmed theirF aith, it would not be of any avail to one who did not believe previously and derived no good out of his belief.
حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تک سورج مغرب سے طلوع نہ ہو قیامت قائم نہیں ہوگی، جب وہ مغرب سے طلوع ہو جائے گا، تو سب کے سب لوگ ایمان لے آئیں گے، تو اس دن ”کسی ایسے شخص کو اس کا ایمان فائدہ نہیں دے گا جو پہلے ایمان نہیں لایا تھا، یا ایمان کے نتیجہ میں کوئی نیکی نہیں کی تھی۔“
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radiallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jab tak sooraj maghrib se tulu na ho qiyamat qaim nahin hogi, jab woh maghrib se tulu ho jaye ga, to sab ke sab log iman le ayein ge, to us din kisi aise shakhs ko us ka iman faida nahin de ga jo pehle iman nahin laya tha, ya iman ke natija mein koi neki nahin ki thi."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ - عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا آمَنَ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا " .
