Chapter: The prohibition of swearing by something other than Allah

باب النَّهْىِ عَنِ الْحَلِفِ بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى
Sahih Muslim 1646b
This Hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri except that in the Hadith narrated on the authority of Uqail the words are, ‘I did not take oath by (anyone else except Allah) since I heard Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) forbidding it. nor did I speak in such terms, and the narrator did not say, ‘on my own behalf or on behalf of someone else.’
امام صاحب اپنے تین اور اساتذہ کی سند سے زہری ہی سے یہ حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں، یاں عقیل کی حدیث میں یہ الفاظ نہیں ہیں، جب سے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس سے منع کرتے ہوئے سنا، میں نے یہ قسم نہیں اٹھائی، اور نہ اس کو زبان پر لایا، ذاكرا ولا آثرا
Imam Sahab apne teen aur asatiza ki sanad se Zuhri hi se yeh hadees bayan karte hain, yaan Uqail ki hadees mein yeh alfaz nahi hain, jab se maine Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ko is se mana karte hue suna, maine yeh qasam nahi uthayi, aur na is ko zubaan par laya, zakiran wala athiran.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ، خَالِدٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . مِثْلَهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ عُقَيْلٍ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَنْهَى عَنْهَا وَلاَ تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهَا . وَلَمْ يَقُلْ ذَاكِرًا وَلاَ آثِرًا .
