Chapter: Hadd punishment for drinking alcohol

باب حَدِّ الْخَمْرِ
Sahih Muslim 1706e
َ ىوَالْقُر . Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to strike forty times with shoes and palm branches (in case of drinking of) wine. The rest of the Hadith is the same and there is no mention of pastures and towns.
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم شراب نوشی کی صورت میں چالیس جوتے اور چھڑیاں مارتے تھے، آگے مذکورہ بالا حدیث ہے، لیکن سرسبز و شاداب علاقہ اور بستیوں کا ذکر نہیں ہے۔
Hazrat Anas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) sharab-noshi ki surat mein chalees joote aur chhariyan marte thay, aage mazkurah bala hadith hai, lekin sar-sabz o shadab ilaqa aur bastiyon ka zikr nahi hai.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّوسلم كَانَ يَضْرِبُ فِي الْخَمْرِ بِالنِّعَالِ وَالْجَرِيدِ أَرْبَعِينَ . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِهِمَا وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الرِّيفَ وَالْقُرَى .
