Sahih Muslim 1779
Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that when (the news of) the advance of Abu Sufyan (at the head of a force) reached, the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) held consultations with his Companions. Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) spoke (expressing his own views), but he (the Prophet ﷺ) did not pay heed to him. Then spoke 'Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) (expressing his views), but he (the Prophet ﷺ) did not pay heed to him (too). Then Sa'd bin 'Ubada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) stood up and said, Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), you want us (to speak). By God in Whose control is my life, if you order us to plunge our horses into the sea, we would do so. If you order us to goad our horses to the most distant place like Bark al-Ghimad, we would do so. The narrator said, now the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) called upon the people (for the encounter). So, they set out and encamped at Badr. (Soon) the watercarriers of the Quraish arrived. Among them was a black slave belonging to Banu al-Hajjaj. The Companions of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) caught him and interrogated him about Abu Sufyan and his companions. He said, I know nothing about Abu Sufyan, but Abu Jahl, Utba, Shaiba and Umayya bin Khalaf are there. When he said this, they beat him. Then he said, All right, I will tell you about Abu Sufyan. They would stop beating him and then ask him (again) about Abu Sufyan. He would again say', I know nothing about Abu Sufyan, but Abu Jahl. 'Utba, Shaiba and Umayya bin Khalaf are there. When he said this, they beat him likewise. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was standing in prayer. When he saw this he finished his prayer and said, By Allah in Whose control is my life, you beat him when he is telling you the truth, and you let him go when he tells you a lie. The narrator said, ‘then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘this is the place where so and so would be killed. He placed his hand on the earth (saying) here and here; (and) none of them fell away from the place which the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had indicated by placing his hand on the earth.
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ابوسفیان کی آمد کی خبر ملی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مشورہ فرمایا، حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے گفتگو کی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس پر توجہ نہ دی، پھر عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے بات کی، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے بھی بے رخی برتی، اس پر سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور کہنے لگے، آپ ہماری رائے جاننا چاہتے ہیں؟ اے اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے، اگر آپ ہمیں گھوڑے سمندر میں ڈالنے کا حکم دیں تو ہم اس میں ڈال دیں گے اور اگر آپ ان کو برک ضماد تک بھگانے کا حکم دیں تو ہم یہ کام کریں گے، تب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لوگوں کو بلایا، وہ چل پڑے حتی کہ بدر میں جا پہنچے اور وہاں ان کے پاس قریش کے پانی ڈھونے والے اونٹ آئے، ان میں بنو حجاج کا ایک سیاہ فام غلام بھی تھا، لوگوں نے اسے پکڑ لیا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھی اس سے ابوسفیان اور اس کے ساتھیوں کے بارے میں پوچھنے لگے تو وہ کہنے لگا، مجھے ابوسفیان کا تو کوئی پتہ نہیں ہے، لیکن ادھر ابوجہل، عتبہ، شیبہ، امیہ بن خلف موجود ہیں، جب وہ یہ کہتا تو وہ اسے مارتے تو وہ کہتا اچھا میں تمہیں بتاتا ہوں، ادھر ابوسفیان ہے تو جب اسے چھوڑ دیتے اور پوچھتے تو وہ کہتا، مجھے ابوسفیان کے بارے میں کچھ علم نہیں ہے، لیکن یہ ابوجہل، عتبہ، شیبہ اور امیہ بن خلف لوگوں کے ساتھ موجود ہیں تو جب وہ یہ کہتا، تو پھر اسے مارتے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ صورت حال دیکھی، سلام پھیر دیا اور فرمایا: ”اس ذات کی قسم، جس کے قبضہ میں میری جان ہے، جب وہ تمہیں سچا بتاتا ہے تو تم اسے پیٹتے ہو اور جب وہ تمہیں جھوٹ بتاتا ہے تم اسے چھوڑ دیتے ہو۔“ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس جگہ فلاں کافر ڈھیر ہو گا۔“ اور اپنے ہاتھ زمین پر یہاں یہاں رکھ رہے تھے تو آپ (رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) کے ہاتھ کی جگہ سے ان میں سے کوئی دور نہیں ہوا۔
Hazrat Anas (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke jab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko Abu Sufyan ki aamad ki khabar mili to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mashwara farmaya, Hazrat Abu Bakr (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne guftagu ki to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne us par tawajjuh na di, phir Umar (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne baat ki, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne usse bhi be rukhi barti, is par Saad bin Ubada (Razi Allahu Anhu) khade hue aur kehne lage, Aap hamari raaye jaanna chahte hain? Aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Jiske hath mein meri jaan hai, agar Aap hamein ghode samandar mein dalne ka hukm dein to hum us mein dal denge aur agar Aap unko Bark e Zimaad tak bhagane ka hukm dein to hum yeh kaam karenge, tab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne logon ko bulaya, woh chal pade hatta ke Badr mein ja pahunche aur wahan unke paas Quraish ke pani dhone wale oont aaye, un mein Banu Hajjaj ka ek siyah faam ghulam bhi tha, logon ne use pakad liya, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saathi usse Abu Sufyan aur uske saathiyon ke bare mein poochne lage to woh kehne laga, mujhe Abu Sufyan ka to koi pata nahi hai, lekin idhar Abu Jahl, Utbah, Shaibah, Umayyah bin Khalaf maujood hain, jab woh yeh kehta to woh use marte to woh kehta accha main tumhe batata hoon, idhar Abu Sufyan hai to jab use chhod dete aur poochte to woh kehta, mujhe Abu Sufyan ke bare mein kuch ilm nahi hai, lekin yeh Abu Jahl, Utbah, Shaibah aur Umayyah bin Khalaf logon ke saath maujood hain to jab woh yeh kehta, to phir use marte aur Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) khade namaz padh rahe the, jab Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne yeh surat e haal dekhi, salam pher diya aur farmaya: "Us zaat ki qasam, jiske qabza mein meri jaan hai, jab woh tumhe saccha batata hai to tum use peette ho aur jab woh tumhe jhoot batata hai tum use chhod dete ho." Aur Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Is jagah falan kafir dheer ho ga." Aur apne hath zameen par yahan yahan rakh rahe the to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hath ki jagah se un mein se koi door nahi hua.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَاوَرَ حِينَ بَلَغَهُ إِقْبَالُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ قَالَ فَتَكَلَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ عُمَرُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَقَامَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ إِيَّانَا تُرِيدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَمَرْتَنَا أَنْ نُخِيضَهَا الْبَحْرَ لأَخَضْنَاهَا وَلَوْ أَمَرْتَنَا أَنْ نَضْرِبَ أَكْبَادَهَا إِلَى بَرْكِ الْغِمَادِ لَفَعَلْنَا - قَالَ - فَنَدَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم النَّاسَ فَانْطَلَقُوا حَتَّى نَزَلُوا بَدْرًا وَوَرَدَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ رَوَايَا قُرَيْشٍ وَفِيهِمْ غُلاَمٌ أَسْوَدُ لِبَنِي الْحَجَّاجِ فَأَخَذُوهُ فَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ . فَيَقُولُ مَا لِي عِلْمٌ بِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَلَكِنْ هَذَا أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَعُتْبَةُ وَشَيْبَةُ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ . فَإِذَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ ضَرَبُوهُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ أَنَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ هَذَا أَبُو سُفْيَانَ . فَإِذَا تَرَكُوهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَقَالَ مَا لِي بِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ عِلْمٌ وَلَكِنْ هَذَا أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَعُتْبَةُ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ فِي النَّاسِ . فَإِذَا قَالَ هَذَا أَيْضًا ضَرَبُوهُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ انْصَرَفَ قَالَ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتَضْرِبُوهُ إِذَا صَدَقَكُمْ وَتَتْرُكُوهُ إِذَا كَذَبَكُمْ " . قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " هَذَا مَصْرَعُ فُلاَنٍ " . قَالَ وَيَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ هَا هُنَا وَهَا هُنَا قَالَ فَمَا مَاطَ أَحَدُهُمْ عَنْ مَوْضِعِ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
