Chapter: The saying of the Prophet (saws): "Allah does not sleep" and "His veil is light, and if he were to remove it, the splendour of his face would burn all of his creation, as far as hs sght reaches".

باب فِي قَوْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَنَامُ». وَفِي قَوْلِهِ: «حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ لَوْ كَشَفَهُ لأَحْرَقَ سُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ مَا انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ بَصَرُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ»
Sahih Muslim 179b
A'mash has narrated this Hadith on the same authority and said : The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was standing among us and he told us four things. He then narrated the Hadith like the one reported by Abu Mua'wiya, but did not mention the words" His creation" and said : His veil is the light.
امام صاحبؒ ایک دوسری سند سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں جس میں ہے: کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک مجلس میں کھڑے ہو کر ہمیں چار باتیں بتائیں، پھر جریرؒ نے ابو معاویہؒ کی طرح حدیث بیان کی اور «مِنْ خَلْقِهِ» کے الفاظ بیان نہیں کیے، اور کہا "حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ" ”اس کا پردہ نور ہے۔“
Imam Sahab (Rahmatullah Alaih) ek doosri sanad se mazkoora bala riwayat bayan karte hain jis mein hai: Ke Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne ek majlis mein khade ho kar humein chaar baatein batayein, phir Jarir ne Abu Muawiyah ki tarah hadith bayan ki aur "min khalqihi" ke alfaz bayan nahin kiye, aur kaha "hijabuhun-nooru" "Is ka parda noor hai."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِأَرْبَعِ كَلِمَاتٍ . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ " مِنْ خَلْقِهِ " . وَقَالَ حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ .
