Sahih Muslim 17a
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that a delegation of Abdul Qais came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said:Messenger of Allah, verily ours is a tribe of Rabi'a and there stand between you and us the unbelievers of Mudar and we find no freedom to come to you except in the sacred month. Direct us to an act which we should ourselves perform and invite those who live beside us. Upon this the Prophet remarked: I command you to do four things and prohibit you against four acts. (The four deeds which you are commanded to do are): Faith in Allah, and then he explained it for them and said: Testifying the fact. that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, performance of prayer, payment of Zakat, that you pay Khums (one-fifth) of the booty fallen to your lot, and I prohibit you to use round gourd, wine jars, wooden pots or skins for wine. Khalaf b. Hisham has made this addition in his narration: Testifying the fact that there is no god but Allah, and then he with his finger pointed out the oneness of the Lord.
حضرت ابنِ عباس رضی الله عنهما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں عبد القیس کا وفد حاضر ہوا اور کہنے لگا اے اللہ کے رسولؐ! ہم ربیعہ قبیلے کے افراد ہیں، ہمارے اور آپ کے درمیان مضر قبیلہ جو کافر ہے، حائل ہے اور ہم حرمت والے مہینے کے سوا آپ تک پہنچ نہیں سکتے۔ لہذٰا آپ ہمیں کسی ایسے امر(حکم، بات) کا حکم دیجیے جس پرہم عمل پیرا ہوں اور اپنے پیچھے رہ جانے والے لوگوں کو اس کی دعوت دیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) نے فرمایا: ”میں تمھیں چار چیزوں کا حکم دیتا ہوں اور تمھیں چار چیزوں سے روکتا ہوں- 1۔ اللہ تعالیٰ پر اایمان لانا۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) نے ایمان باللہ کی تفسیر کی، فرمایا: اس بات کی گواہی دینا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا کوئی عبادت کا مستحق نہیں اور بے شک محمد اللہ کے رسول ہیں۔ 2۔ نماز قائم کرنا۔ 3۔ زکوٰۃ ادا کرنا۔ 4۔ مالِ غنیمت جو تمھیں حاصل ہو اس سے پانچواں حصہ ادا کرنا۔ اور میں تمھیں دُباء (کدّو کا تونبہ) سبز گھڑے، لکڑی کے برتن، تار کول ملے ہوئے برتن کے استعمال سے منع کرتا ہوں۔“ خلف نے اپنی روایت میں یہ اضافہ کیا، ”اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا کوئی بندگی کے لائق نہیں کا اقرار۔“ اور اس کو آپ نےانگلی کے اشارے سے ایک شمار کیا۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radhi Allahu Anhuma) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ki khidmat mein Abdul Qais ka wafd hazir hua aur kehne laga ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! hum Rabiyah qabeela ke afraad hain, hamare aur Aap ke darmiyan Mudar qabeela jo kafir hai, hayil hai aur hum hurmat wale mahine ke siwa Aap tak pohnch nahi sakte. Lehaza Aap humein kisi aise amar (hukum, baat) ka hukum dijiye jis par hum amal-pira hon aur apne peeche reh jane wale logon ko is ki dawat dein. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Main tumhein char cheezon ka hukum deta hoon aur tumhein char cheezon se rokta hoon- 1. Allah Ta'ala par iman lana. Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne iman-billah ki tafseer ki, farmaya: is baat ki gawahi dena ke Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi ibadat ka mustahiq nahi aur beshak Muhammad Allah ke Rasool hain. 2. Namaz qaim karna. 3. Zakat ada karna. 4. Maal-e-ghanimat jo tumhein hasil ho us se panchwan hissa ada karna. Aur main tumhein duba (kaddu ka tonba) sabz ghare, lakri ke bartan, taar-kol mile hue bartan ke istemal se mana karta hoon." Khalf ne apni riwayat mein yeh izafa kiya, "Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi bandagi ke layeq nahi ka iqrar." Aur is ko Aap ne ungli ke ishare se ek shumar kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا هَذَا الْحَىَّ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ وَقَدْ حَالَتْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ فَلاَ نَخْلُصُ إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ فِي شَهْرِ الْحَرَامِ فَمُرْنَا بِأَمْرٍ نَعْمَلُ بِهِ وَنَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ مَنْ وَرَاءَنَا . قَالَ " آمُرُكُمْ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ الإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ - ثُمَّ فَسَّرَهَا لَهُمْ فَقَالَ - شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَأَنْ تُؤَدُّوا خُمُسَ مَا غَنِمْتُمْ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُقَيَّرِ " . زَادَ خَلَفٌ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ " شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ " . وَعَقَدَ وَاحِدَةً .
