Sahih Muslim 2405
Suhail reported on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا ْعليه و آله وسلم) said on the Day of Khaibar, I shall certainly give this standard in the hand of one who loves Allah and his Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and Allah will grant victory at his hand. Umar bin Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, never did I cherish for leadership but on that day. I came before him with the hope that I may be called for this, but Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) called Ali bin Abu Talib (ْرضي الله تعالى عنه) and he conferred (this honor) upon him and said, proceed on and do not look about until Allah grants you victory, and Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) went a bit and then halted and did not look about and then said in a loud voice, Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا ْعليه و ْآله وسلم), on what issue should I fight with the people? Thereupon the Prophet (ْصلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, fight with them until they bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad (صلى هللا عليه ْو آله وسلم) is his Apostle, and when they do that then their blood and their riches are inviolable from your hands but what is justified by law and their reckoning is with Allah.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خیبر کے دن فرمایا:"کل میں اس شخص کو جھنڈا دوں گا جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے محبت کرتا ہے،اللہ اس کے ہاتھ پر فتح عطافرمائے گا۔"حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بن خطاب نے کہا:اس ایک دن کے علاوہ میں نے کبھی امارت کی تمنا نہیں کی،کہا:میں نے اس امید کہ مجھے اس کے لئے بلایا جائے گا اپنی گردن اونچی کی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو بلایا،ان کو وہ جھنڈا دیا اور فرمایا:"جاؤ،پیچھےمڑ کر نہ دیکھو،یہاں تک کہ اللہ تمھیں فتح عطا کردے۔"کہا:حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کچھ دور گئے،پھر ٹھر گئے،پیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھا اور بلند آواز سے پکار کر کہا:اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم !کس بات پر لوگوں سے جنگ کروں؟آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:"ان سے لڑو یہاں تک کہ وہ اس بات کی گواہی دیں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں اور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اللہ کے رسول ہیں،اگرانھوں نے ایسا کرلیا توانھوں نے اپنی جانیں اور اپنے مال تم سے محفوظ کرلیے،سوائے یہ کہ اسی(شہادت) کاحق ہو اوران کاحساب اللہ پر ہوگا۔"
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne Khaibar ke din farmaya: "Kal main is shakhs ko jhanda doonga jo Allah aur us ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se muhabbat karta hai, Allah us ke haath par fateh ata farmayega." Hazrat Umar (Razi Allahu Anhu) bin Khattab ne kaha: Is ek din ke ilawa main ne kabhi imarat ki tamanna nahin ki, kaha: Main ne is umeed ke mujhe is ke liye bulaya jayega apni gardan oonchi ki to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib (Razi Allahu Anhu) ko bulaya, un ko woh jhanda diya aur farmaya: "Jao, peeche mur kar na dekho, yahan tak ke Allah tumhein fateh ata kar de." Kaha: Hazrat Ali (Razi Allahu Anhu) kuch dur gaye, phir thehar gaye, peeche mur kar na dekha aur buland awaz se pukar kar kaha: Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! Kis baat par logon se jung karun? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "In se laro yahan tak ke woh is baat ki gawahi dein ke Allah ke siwa koi ibadat ke laiq nahin aur Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) Allah ke Rasool hain, agar unhon ne aisa kar liya to unhon ne apni jaanain aur apne maal tum se mehfooz kar liye, siwaaye yeh ke isi (shahadat) ka haq ho aur un ka hisab Allah par hoga."
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَارِيَّ - عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ " لأُعْطِيَنَّ هَذِهِ الرَّايَةَ رَجُلاً يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَفْتَحُ اللَّهُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ " . قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ مَا أَحْبَبْتُ الإِمَارَةَ إِلاَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ - قَالَ - فَتَسَاوَرْتُ لَهَا رَجَاءَ أَنْ أُدْعَى لَهَا - قَالَ - فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهَا وَقَالَ " امْشِ وَلاَ تَلْتَفِتْ حَتَّى يَفْتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ " . قَالَ فَسَارَ عَلِيٌّ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ وَقَفَ وَلَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ فَصَرَخَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَاذَا أُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ قَالَ " قَاتِلْهُمْ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ مَنَعُوا مِنْكَ دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلاَّ بِحَقِّهَا وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
