Chapter: The Words Of Allah The Most High: "Verily, The Good Deeds Remove The Evil Deeds"

باب قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى { إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ}
Sahih Muslim 2763b
Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that a person came to Allah's Apostle ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) and told him that he had kissed a woman or touched her with his hand or did something like this. He inquired of him about its expiation. It was (on this occasion) that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this verse - َفَيِ الَ ةَ طَروَأَقِمِ الصَّال ََٰ ىِ وَ زُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّي ِئَاتِ ۚ ذََٰلِكَ ذِكْرنَّهَار َِ ينلِلذَّاكِر [ And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and in the beginning hours of the night. Indeed, good deeds efface misdeeds (sins). That is a reminder for those who remember].
حضرت عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوااور بتایا، اس نے ایک نے ایک عورت کا بوسہ لیا،یا ہاتھ سے اسے چھوا ہے یا کوئی حرکت کی ہے اور گویا اس کے کفارہ کے بار میں پوچھا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے آیت اتاری آگے مذکورہ بالا روایت ہے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (Raziyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ki ek aadmi Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein haazir hua aur bataya, us ne ek ne ek aurat ka bosa liya, ya haath se use chhoya hai ya koi harkat ki hai aur goya us ke kaffara ke bare mein poocha hai toh Allah Ta'ala ne aayat utari aage mazkurah bala riwayat hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ، مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَجُلاً، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ إِمَّا قُبْلَةً أَوْ مَسًّا بِيَدٍ أَوْ شَيْئًا كَأَنَّهُ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا - قَالَ - فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يَزِيدَ .
