Chapter: Time-limit for wiping over the khuff

باب التَّوْقِيتِ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ
Sahih Muslim 276c
Shuraib bin Hani reported that he asked Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) about wiping over the shoes. She said: You better go to 'Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه), for he knows more about this than I. I, therefore, came to 'Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and he narrated from the Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) like this (as stated in the above Hadith).
شریح بن ہانی بیان کرتے ہیں: کہ میں نے موزوں پر مسح کا مسئلہ حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے پوچھا: تو انہوں نے کہا: ”علی ؓ کے پاس جاؤ! کیونکہ وہ یہ مسئلہ مجھ سے زیادہ جانتے ہیں“ تو میں علی ؓ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، تو انہوں نے مذکورہ بالا مسئلہ، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیان فرمایا۔
Shuraih bin Hani (Rehmatullah Alaih) bayan karte hain: ke main ne mozon par masah ka masla Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Anha) se poocha: to unhon ne kaha: "Ali (Radi Allahu Anhu) ke paas jao! kyunke wo ye masla mujh se zyada jaante hain" to main Ali (Radi Allahu Anhu) ki khidmat mein hazir hua, to unhon ne mazkoora bala masla, Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se bayan farmaya.
وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ، عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَتِ ائْتِ عَلِيًّا فَإِنَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِذَلِكَ مِنِّي فَأَتَيْتُ عَلِيًّا فَذَكَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِثْلِهِ .
