Chapter: The evidence that one who dies believing in tawhid will definitely enter paradise

باب مَنْ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ بِالإِيمَانِ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ شَاكٍّ فِيهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَحَرُمَ عَلَى النَّارِ
Sahih Muslim 33b
It is narrated on the authority of Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that Itban bin Malik ( رضي الله تعالیعنہ) told him that he became blind. He sent a message to the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) that he should come and mark a place of worship for him. Thereupon came the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and his people, and then there was a discussion among them about a man who was known as Malik bin Dukhshum, and subsequently the narrator described the Hadith of Sulaiman bin Mughira as stated above.
حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں مجھے عتبان بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتایا: کہ میں نابینا ہو گیا، اس وجہ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف پیغام بھیجا (تشریف لا کرمیرے مکان میں) مسجد کی ایک جگہ متعین کر دیجیے (تاکہ میں اس میں نماز پڑھ سکوں) تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور عتبان رضی اللہ عنہ کی قوم کے لوگ بھی آگئے، ان میں ایک آدمی جسے مالک بن دحشم کہتے تھے غائب رہا۔ اس کے بعد سلیمان بن مغیرہ کی حدیث کی طرح روایت ہے۔
Hazrat Anas (Radhi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain mujhe Utban bin Malik (Radhi Allahu Anhu) ne bataya: ke main nabina ho gaya, is wajah se Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ki taraf paigham bheja (tashreef la kar mere makan mein) masjid ki ek jagah mutayein kar dijiye (taake main is mein namaz parh sakoon) to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) tashreef laye aur Utban (Radhi Allahu Anhu) ki qaum ke log bhi aa gaye, in mein ek aadmi jise Malik bin Duhshum kehte thay ghaib raha. Is ke baad Sulaiman bin Mughira ki hadith ki tarah riwayat hai.
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِتْبَانُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ عَمِيَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ تَعَالَ فَخُطَّ لِي مَسْجِدًا . فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَجَاءَ قَوْمُهُ وَنُعِتَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ الدُّخْشُمِ . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ .
