باب تَسْوِيَةِ الصُّفُوفِ وَإِقَامَتِهَا وَفَضْلِ الأَوَّلِ فَالأَوَّلِ مِنْهَا وَالاِزْدِحَامِ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ وَالْمُسَابَقَةِ إِلَيْهَا وَتَقْدِيمِ أُولِي الْفَضْلِ وَتَقْرِيبِهِمْ مِنَ الإِمَامِ

Sahih Muslim 437
Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : If the people were to know what excellence is there in the Adhan and in the first row, and they could not (get these opportunities) except by drawing lots, they would have definitely done that. And if they were to know what excellence lies in joining the prayer in the first takbir (prayer), they would have vied with one another. And if they were to know what excellence lies in the night prayer and morning prayer, they would have definitely come even if crawling (on their knees).
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اگر لوگوں کو معلوم ہو جائے کہ اذان دینے اور پہلی صف میں نماز پڑھنے میں (کس قدر اجر و ثواب ہے) پھر ان کے لیے اس کی خاطر قرعہ اندازی کرنے کے سوا کوئی چارہ باقی نہ رہے، تو وہ اس کے لیے قرعہ اندازی کریں اور اگر وہ جان لیں نماز کے لیے جلدی آنے میں کتنا اجر و ثواب ملتا ہے تو اس کے لیے ایک دوسرے سے آگے بڑھنے کی کوشش کریں، اور اگر انہیں معلوم ہو جائے کہ عشاء اور صبح کی نماز کا کتنا ثواب ملتا ہے تو انہیں گٹھنوں اور ہاتھوں کے بل بھی آنا پڑے تو آئیں۔“
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "agar logon ko maloom ho jaye ke azan dene aur pehli saff mein namaz parhne mein (kis qadar azar o sawab hai) phir un ke liye is ki khatir qura-andazi karne ke siwa koi chara baqi na rahe, toh woh is ke liye qura-andazi karein aur agar woh jaan lein namaz ke liye jaldi aane mein kitna azar o sawab milta hai toh is ke liye ek doosre se aage barhne ki koshish karein, aur agar unhein maloom ho jaye ke Isha aur subah ki namaz ka kitna sawab milta hai toh unhein ghutnon aur hathon ke bal bhi aana pare toh aayein."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ سُمَىٍّ، مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي النِّدَاءِ وَالصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لاَسْتَهَمُوا وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِي التَّهْجِيرِ لاَسْتَبَقُوا إِلَيْهِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِي الْعَتَمَةِ وَالصُّبْحِ لأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " .
