Chapter: Prohibiting one who has eaten garlic, onions, or leeks, and other things that have an offensive odor from coming to the masjid, until that smell has gone away, and such a person should be expelled from the masjid

Sahih Muslim 561a
Ibn Umar narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said during the battle of Khaybar, he who ate of this plant, garlic, should not come to the mosques. In the narration of Zubair, there is only a mention of ‘battle’ and not of Khaybar.
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوةٴ خیبر کے موقعہ پر فرمایا: ”جس نے یہ پودا یعنی لہسن کھایا وہ مسجد میں ہرگز نہ آئے“، زہیر نے صرف غزوةٴ خیبر کا نام نہیں لیا۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Ghazwa-e-Khaibar ke mauqa par farmaya: ‘Jis ne yeh pauda yani lehsun khaya wo masjid mein hargiz na aaye’, Zuhair ne sirf Ghazwa-e-Khaibar ka naam nahi liya.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، - وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ - عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ فِي غَزْوَةِ خَيْبَرَ " مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ - يَعْنِي الثُّومَ - فَلاَ يَأْتِيَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ " . قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ فِي غَزْوَةٍ . وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ خَيْبَرَ .
