باب صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ وَعَدَدِ رَكَعَاتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ الْوِتْرَ رَكْعَةٌ وَأَنَّ الرَّكْعَةَ صَلاَةٌ صَحِيحَةٌ

Sahih Muslim 745b
Masruq narrated on the authority of Ummul Momineen A'isha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) that she said that the Apostle Of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to observe the Witr prayer every night, maybe in the early part of night, at midnight and in the latter part, (and towards the end of his life) his Witr at dawn.
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا بیان فرماتی ہیں، کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رات کے ہر حصہ میں وتر پڑھے ہیں، رات کے ابتدائی حصہ میں درمیان میں اور آخر میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے وتر صبح سحری کے وقت تک کو پہنچ گئے۔
Hazrat Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) bayan farmati hain, ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne raat ke har hissa mein witr parhe hain, raat ke ibtedayi hissa mein darmiyan mein aur aakhir mein Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke witr subha sahri ke waqt tak ko pohanch gaye.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَوْسَطِهِ وَآخِرِهِ فَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ .
