Chapter: Night prayer, and the one who sleeps and misses it or is sick

باب جَامِعِ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ وَمَنْ نَامَ عَنْهُ أَوْ مَرِضَ
Sahih Muslim 746c
Sa'd bin Hisham narrated that he went to Abdullah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and asked him about the Witr prayer, and the rest of the Hadith is the same as recorded in this event. Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) said, who is that Hisham? I said Son of Amir ( رضي الله تعالى عنه). She said, what a fine man Amir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was! He died as a martyr in the Battle of Uhud.
سعد بن ہشام بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے پاس گیا اور ان سے وتر کے بارے میں سوال کیا، اس کے بعد پوری حدیث ہے اور اس میں ہے کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے پوچھا، ہشام کون ہے؟ جواب ملا، عامر کا بیٹا، انہوں نے کہا، عامر اچھا آدمی تھا، احد کے دن شہید ہوا۔
Saad bin Hisham bayan karte hain ke mein Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) ke paas gaya aur un se witr ke baare mein sawal kiya, is ke baad poori hadith hai aur is mein hai ke Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) ne pucha, Hisham kaun hai? jawab mila, Aamir ka beta, unhon ne kaha, Aamir accha aadmi tha, Uhad ke din shaheed hua.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ . وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِقِصَّتِهِ وَقَالَ فِيهِ قَالَتْ مَنْ هِشَامٌ قُلْتُ ابْنُ عَامِرٍ . قَالَتْ نِعْمَ الْمَرْءُ كَانَ عَامِرٌ أُصِيبَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ .
