Sahih Muslim 86a
Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported : I asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) : Which sin is the gravest in the eye of Allah (جَلَّ ذُو)? He (the Prophet ﷺ) replied : That you associate a partner with Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) (despite the fact) that He has created you. He (the reporter) said : I told him verily it is indeed grave. He (the reporter) said : I asked him what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Prophet ﷺ) replied : That you kill your child out of fear that he shall join you in food. He (the reporter) said: I asked (him) what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Prophet ﷺ) observed : Then (the next gravest sin) is that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor.
حضرت عبداللہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا اللہ کے ہاں سب سے سنگین گناہ کون سا ہے؟ آپؐ نے فرمایا: "یہ کہ تم اللہ کا شریک اور مدِّ مقابل کسی کو ٹھہراؤ حالانکہ وہ تمھارا خالق ہے۔“ میں نے عرض کیا: کیا واقعی یہ سنگین ہے؟ میں نے پھر پوچھا: پھر کون سا؟ فرمایا: ”یہ کہ اپنے پڑوسی کی بیوی سے زنا کرو۔“
Hazrat Abdullah (Radhi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke main ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se pucha Allah ke haan sab se sangeen gunah kaun sa hai? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Yeh ke tum Allah ka shareek aur madd-e-muqabil kisi ko thehrao halanke woh tumhara khaliq hai." Main ne arz kiya: kya waqeyi yeh sangeen hai? Main ne phir pucha: phir kaun sa? Farmaya: "Yeh ke apne parosi ki biwi se zina karo."
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، وَقَالَ، عُثْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الذَّنْبِ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا وَهُوَ خَلَقَكَ " . قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَعَظِيمٌ . قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ " ثُمَّ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَكَ " . قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ " ثُمَّ أَنْ تُزَانِيَ حَلِيلَةَ جَارِكَ " .
