Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Ishmael, son of Abraham (peace be upon them both), is that Prophet of Allah Almighty, whom Allah Almighty has given the title of 'Sadiq-ul-Wa'd' (The Truthful in Promise). He was swift in (carrying out Allah's) command, who fought against the enemies of Allah Almighty and Allah Almighty also granted him victory over them. He was very fierce in fighting against the disbelievers. He did not fear the blame of any blamer in the matter of Allah Almighty. His head was small, his neck strong, his hands and feet long. When he stood, his hands would reach his knees. His eyes were small, his nose long, his shoulders broad, his fingers long. He was handsome, powerful, strong, and harsh against the disbelievers. He used to command his family to pray, and he was among the accepted servants of his Lord. His Zakat was to sacrifice from his wealth in the way of Allah Almighty. And whomever he made a promise to, Allah Almighty would fulfill it, so Allah Almighty gave him the title of 'Sadiq-ul-Wa'd' (The Truthful in Promise). And he was a Messenger and a Prophet.
حضرت کعب رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں : حضرت اسماعیل بن ابراہیم علیہما السلام ، اللہ تعالیٰ کے وہ نبی علیہ السلام ہیں ، جن کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے صادق الوعد کا لقب عطا فرمایا ہے جن میں ( بلا کی ) تیزی ہے ، جو اللہ تعالیٰ کے دشمنوں سے جہاد کرتا ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو ان پر فتح و نصرت بھی عطا فرماتا ہے ۔ وہ کافروں کے خلاف بہت سخت لڑنے والے تھے ۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کے معاملہ میں کسی ملامت گر کی ملامت کا خوف نہیں رکھتے تھے ۔ ان کا سر چھوٹا ، گردن مضبوط ، ہاتھ اور پاؤں لمبے ، وہ کھڑے ہوتے تو ان کے ہاتھ ان کے گھٹنوں کو چھوتے ، ان کی آنکھیں چھوٹی ، ناک لمبی ، کندھے چوڑے ، انگلیاں لمبی ، خوبصورت ، طاقتور ، مضبوط اور کافروں پر سختی کرنے والے تھے ۔ وہ اپنے گھر والوں کو نماز کا حکم دیا کرتے تھے اور رب کی بارگاہ کے مقبول بندے تھے اور ان کی زکوۃ اپنے مالوں میں سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں قربانی پیش کرنا تھی ۔ آپ جس کسی سے بھی کوئی وعدہ کرتے ، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو پورا فرماتا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو ’’ صادق الوعد ‘‘ کا لقب عطا فرمایا اور وہ رسول اور نبی تھے ۔
Hazrat Kaab Radi Allaho Anho Farmaty Hain : Hazrat Ismail Bin Ibrahim Alaihima Assalam, Allah Taala Ke Woh Nabi Alaihi Assalam Hain, Jin Ko Allah Taala Ne Sadiq Alwad Ka Laqab Ata Farmaya Hai Jin Mein (Bala Ki) Tezi Hai, Jo Allah Taala Ke Dushmanon Se Jihad Karta Hai Aur Allah Taala Usko Un Par Fath o Nusrat Bhi Ata Farmata Hai. Woh Kafiro Ke Khilaf Bahut Sakht Larne Wale Thy. Allah Taala Ke Mamle Mein Kisi Malamat Gar Ki Malamat Ka Khauf Nahi Rakhte Thy. Unka Sar Chhota, Gardan Mazboot, Hath Aur Paon Lambe, Woh Kharay Hote To Unke Hath Unke Ghutno Ko Chhote, Unki Aankhen Chhoti, Naak Lambi, Kandhe Chaure, Ungliyan Lambi, Khoobsorat, Taqatwar, Mazboot Aur Kafiro Par Sakhti Karne Wale Thy. Woh Apne Ghar Walon Ko Namaz Ka Hukum Diya Karte Thy Aur Rab Ki Bargah Ke Maqbool Bande Thy Aur Unki Zakat Apne Maalon Mein Se Allah Taala Ki Bargah Mein Qurbani Pesh Karna Thi. Aap Jis Kisi Se Bhi Koi Wada Karte, Allah Taala Usko Poora Farmata To Allah Taala Ne Unko ''Sadiq Alwad'' Ka Laqab Ata Farmaya Aur Woh Rasul Aur Nabi Thy.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ السَّمُرِيُّ، ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُدْرِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ الَّذِي سَمَّاهُ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ، وَكَانَ رَجُلًا فِيهِ حِدَّةٌ يُجَاهِدُ أَعْدَاءَ اللَّهِ وَيُعْطِيهِ اللَّهُ النَّصْرَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَالظَّفَرَ، وَكَانَ شَدِيدَ الْحَرْبِ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ لَا يَخَافُ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ، صَغِيرَ الرَّأْسِ، غَلِيظَ الْعُنُقِ، طَوِيلَ الْيَدَيْنِ وَالرِّجْلَيْنِ، يَضْرِبُ بِيَدَيْهِ رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ صَغِيرَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ، طَوِيلَ الْأَنْفِ، عَرِيضَ الْكَتِفِ، طَوِيلَ الْأَصَابِعِ، بَارِزَ الْخَلْقِ، قَوِيٌّ شَدِيدٌ عَنِيفٌ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ، وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ، وَكَانَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا» قَالَ: «وَكَانَتْ زَكَاتُهُ الْقُرْبَانُ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَكَانَ لَا يَعِدُ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَنْجَزَهُ فَسَمَّاهُ اللَّهُ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا» [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 4033 - إسناده ضعيف
