Mention of Prophet Shu'ayb (peace be upon him)

Mustadrak Al Hakim 4075
Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Allah Almighty sent Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) to two nations. One was his own people, the people of Madyan, and the other was the companions of the wood. There was a cluster of fruit-bearing trees. When Allah Almighty intended to punish them, He sent intense heat upon them and raised a cloud of punishment for them. When the cloud came near them, they went out towards it, hoping for coolness. When they reached right underneath it, (the fire within) rained down upon them. Regarding this, Allah Almighty has said: "So the punishment of a day of shade overtook them." (Translation: Kanzul Iman, Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, may Allah have mercy upon him).
" حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں : اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت شعیب علیہ السلام کو دو امتوں کی طرف بھیجا تھا ۔ ایک آپ کی قوم اہل مدین اور دوسرے اصحاب الایکہ ۔ پھلدار درختوں کا ایک جھنڈ تھا ۔ جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو عذاب دینے کا ارادہ فرمایا : تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر سخت گرمی بھیجی اور ان کے لئے بادل کی صورت میں عذاب بلند کیا ، جب وہ بادل ان کے قریب آیا تو یہ لوگ ٹھنڈ حاصل کرنے کی امید سے اس کی طرف نکلے ، جب یہ لوگ اس کے عین نیچے آ گئے تو ( اس میں آگ ) ان پر برس پڑی ۔ اسی کے متعلق اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا : فَاَخَذَھُمْ عَذَابُ یَوْمِ الظُّلَّۃ ’’ تو انہیں شامیانے والے دن کے عذاب نے آ لیا ۔‘‘ ( ترجمہ کنزالایمان ، امام احمد رضا رحمۃ اللہ علیہ )"
Hazrat Qatadah raziallahu anhu farmate hain : Allah ta'ala ne Hazrat Shoaib alaihissalam ko do ummaton ki taraf bheja tha . Ek aap ki qaum ahle Madeen aur dusre Ashabe Aika . Phal dar darakhton ka ek jhund tha . Jab Allah ta'ala ne un ko azab dene ka iradah farmaya : to Allah ta'ala ne un per sakht garmi bheji aur un ke liye badal ki soorat mein azab buland kiya , jab woh badal un ke qareeb aaya to yeh log thand hasil karne ki umeed se us ki taraf nikle , jab yeh log us ke ain neeche aa gaye to ( us mein aag ) un per baras padi . Isi ke mutalliq Allah ta'ala ne farmaya : "Fa akhazahum azabu yawmizzullat " '' to unhen shamiyanewale din ke azab ne aa liya .'' ( Tarjuma Kanzul Imaan , Imam Ahmad Raza rehmatullah alaih )
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ قَتَادَةَ، يَقُولُ: "" بَعَثَ اللَّهُ شُعَيْبًا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أُمَّتَيْنِ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ وَإِلَى أَصْحَابِ الْأَيْكَةِ فَكَانَتِ الْأَيْكَةُ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مُلْتَفٍّ، فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَرًّا شَدِيدًا، وَرَفَعَ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابَ كَأَنَّهُ سَحَابَةٌ، فَلَمَّا دَنَتْ مِنْهُمْ خَرَجُوا إِلَيْهَا رَجَاءَ بَرْدِهَا، فَلَمَّا كَانُوا تَحْتَهَا مَطَرَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَقَالَ: فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ} [الشعراء: 189] "" [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 4075 - سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
