Mustadrak Al Hakim 4495
Aqaba bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If there was to be a prophet after me, then Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) would have been a prophet." ** This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Sheikhs (Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim - may Allah have mercy on them) did not narrate it.
" حضرت عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا : اگر میرے بعد کوئی نبی ہوتا تو عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نبی ہوتے ۔ ٭٭ یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے لیکن شیخین رحمۃ اللہ علیہما نے اس کو نقل نہیں کیا ۔"
Hazrat Aqba bin Aamir razi Allah anhu farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Agar mere baad koi nabi hota to Umar bin Khattab razi Allah anhu nabi hote. ** Yeh hadees sahih al-isnad hai lekin Sheikhein rehmatullahi alaihima ne is ko naqal nahi kiya.
أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي مَسَرَّةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مِشْرَحِ بْنِ هَاعَانَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَوْ كَانَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ لَكَانَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ، وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ "" [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 4495 - صحيح
