The virtues of Hazrat Amir bin Rabi'ah (RA)
فضائل حضرت عامر بن ربيعة رضي الله عنه
Mustadrak Al Hakim 5538
Amir bin Rabia (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when a funeral passed by. A Jewish man said, ‘O Muhammad! Will this deceased (speak in the grave in response to the questions of the angels Munkar and Nakir)?’ The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent. The Jew said, ‘O Muhammad! I bear witness that this deceased will speak.’ Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘When a person from the People of the Book speaks to you, then (do not respond but rather) say, ‘We believe in Allah, His angels, His books and His messengers.’" ** - This narration is famous from the transmission of Zuhri on the authority of Harith bin Ubaid Al-Riyahi. We have mentioned at the end of this copy the narration of Yunus from Yazid, again from Zuhri (which is as follows):"
" حضرت عامر بن ربیعہ رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں : ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہمراہ تھے ، وہاں سے ایک جنازہ گزرا ، ایک یہودی شخص نے کہا : اے محمد ! کیا یہ جنازہ ( قبر میں نکیرین کے سوالوں کے جواب میں ) گفتگو کرے گا ؟ رسول اللہ ﷺ خاموش رہے ، اس یہودی نے کہا : اے محمد ! میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ یہ گفتگو کرے گا ۔ اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : جب تمہارے ساتھ کوئی اہل کتاب بات کرے تو تم ( اس کا جواب نہ دو بلکہ ) کہو ’’ ہم اللہ تعالیٰ پر ، اس کے فرشتوں پر ، اس کی کتابوں پر اور اس کے رسولوں پر ایمان لائے ۔ ٭٭ یہ حدیث حارث بن عبیدہ رہاوی کی زہری سے روایت کے حوالے سے مشہور ہے اور ہم نے اس نسخہ کے آخر میں یونس کی یزید سے پھر زہری سے روایت کردہ حدیث نقل کی ہے ۔ ( وہ حدیث درج ذیل ہے )"
Hazrat Amir bin Rabia Radi Allaho Anho farmate hain : hum Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ke humrah thay, wahan se ek janaza guzara, ek yahodi shakhs ne kaha : aye Muhammad! kya ye janaza ( qabar mein nakeeron ke sawalon ke jawab mein ) guftgu karega? Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam khamosh rahe, iss yahodi ne kaha : aye Muhammad! mein gawahi deta hon ke ye guftgu karega. Iss par Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne farmaya : jab tumhare saath koi ahle kitab baat kare to tum ( iss ka jawab na do balke ) kaho '' hum Allah Ta'ala par, iss ke farishton par, iss ki kitaabon par aur iss ke Rasoolon par iman laaye. ** ye hadees Haris bin Ubaidullah Riwahi ki Zuhri se riwayat ke hawale se mashhoor hai aur hum ne iss nusqha ke akhir mein Younus ki Yazid se phir Zuhri se riwayat kardah hadees naqal ki hai. ( wo hadees darj zail hai )
أَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْفَقِيهُ، ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، بِحِمْصَ، ثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ، ثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَرَّ بِجِنَازَةٍ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ تَكَلَّمُ هَذِهِ الْجَنَازَةُ، فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ: أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهَا تَكَلَّمُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا حَدَّثَكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ حَدِيثًا فَقُولُوا: آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ يُعْرَفُ بِالْحَارِثِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ الرَّهَاوِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَقَدْ كَتَبْنَاهُ فِي آخِرِ نُسْخَةٍ لِيُونُسَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ»
