Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Zubair ibn al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by a gathering of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) was among them, reciting his poetry. However, the rest of the people were sitting with disinterested expressions. Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) also sat with them. He asked them, "What is the matter? I see that you are not paying attention to the verses of Ibn-e-Fira'a (Hassan)." He continued, "He (Hassan) used to recite poetry in the court of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and you (the Prophet) used to listen with great attention and interest. You used to pray for reward for him and wouldn't pay attention to anything else while listening to the poetry." Hearing this, Hassan said: "They (the companions) adhered to the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him) during his time, they were his supporters, and their words and deeds were aligned. They follow the way of the Prophet (peace be upon him), they are the upholders of truth, and truth is the greatest justice. He (Zubair) is a renowned horseman and a leader who, when happy, attacks with great swiftness. He is a man whose mother is Safiyyah, and he belongs to the tribe of Banu Asad. There is tranquility in his house. He has a very close kinship with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and his greatness is evident in his support for Islam. How many hardships Zubair has defended the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) with his sword, and whatever Allah Almighty gives is truly precious. When the battle is at its peak, he walks with great dignity, dragging the war towards death. There has never been anyone like him, nor is there now, nor will there ever be in this world. Your praise is better than all the deeds of time, and O son of Hashimiyyah, your actions are the most virtuous."
" حضرت اسماء بنت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں : حضرت زبیر بن عوام رضی اللہ عنہ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کی ایک مجلس کے پاس سے گزرے ۔ حضرت حسان رضی اللہ عنہ ان میں بیٹھے اپنے شعر گنگنا رہے تھے ۔ لیکن باقی لوگ سامنے بیزار بیٹھے ہوئے تھے ۔ حضرت زبیر بھی ان کے ساتھ بیٹھ گئے ، حضرت زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے کہا : کیا بات ہے ؟ میں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ تم لوگ ابن فریعہ کے اشعار پر توجہ نہیں دے رہے ہو ؟ یہ ( حسان ) رسول اللہ ﷺ کی بارگاہ میں سخن گوئی کیا کرتے تھے اور آپ ﷺ بہت توجہ اور دلچسپی کے ساتھ سنا کرتے تھے ، ان کے لئے ثواب کی دعا کیا کرتے تھے ، اور شعر سنتے وقت آپ ﷺ کسی دوسری چیز کی جانب توجہ نہیں کرتے تھے ۔ یہ بات سن کر حضرت حسان نے کہا : وہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے زمانے میں آپ ﷺ کی ہدایت پر قائم ہیں ان کے حمایتی ہیں اور ان کا قول اور فعل ایک جیسا ہے ۔ وہ آپ ﷺ ہی کے طریقے پر چل رہے ہیں ، وہ حق کی طرفداری کرنے والے ہیں اور حق ہی زیادہ انصاف کرنے والا ہے ۔ وہ مشہور شہسوار ہیں اور ایسا قائد ہے جو خوشی میں ہوتا ہے تو بہت تیزی سے حملہ کرتا ہے ۔ وہ ایسا شخص ہے جس کی ماں صفیہ ہے اور اس کا تعلق قبیلہ اسد سے ہے ، اس کے گھر میں آسودگی ہے ۔ اس کی رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ بہت قریبی رشتہ داری ہے اور اسلام کی مدد کے حوالے سے ان کی بزرگی گندھی ہوئی ہے ۔ زبیر نے اپنی تلوار کے ذریعے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے کتنی ہی تکلیفوں کا دفاع کیا ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ جس کو دیتا ہے ، بہت نوازتا ہے ۔ جب جنگ اپنے عروج پر ہوتی ہے تو یہ بڑے وقار سے چلتے ہوئے جنگ کو موت کی جانب گھسیٹ کر لے جاتے ہیں ۔ اس کی مثل نہ کبھی کوئی تھا ، نہ اب ہے اور نہ رہتی دنیا تک کوئی ہو سکتا ہے ۔ تیری تعریف زمانے کے تمام افعال سے بہتر ہے اور اے ہاشمیہ کے بیٹے تیرا فعل سب سے افضل ہے ۔"

Yeh ( Hassan ) Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki bargah mein sukhan goi kya karte the aur aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam bahut tawajjo aur dilchaspi ke sath suna karte the , un ke liye sawab ki dua karte the , aur sher sunte waqt aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam kisi dusri cheez ki jaanib tawajjo nahi karte the . Yeh baat sun kar Hazrat Hassan ne kaha : Woh Nabi Akram Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke zamane mein aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki hidayat par qaayam hain un ke himayati hain aur un ka qaul aur fiqal ek jaisa hai . Woh aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam hi ke tareeqe par chal rahe hain , woh haq ki tarafdaari karne wale hain aur haq hi zyada insaaf karne wala hai . Woh mashhoor shahsawar hain aur aisa qaaid hai jo khushi mein hota hai to bahut tezi se hamla karta hai . Woh aisa shakhs hai jis ki maa Safiya hai aur is ka talluq qabeela Asad se hai , is ke ghar mein asudagi hai . Is ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke sath bahut qareebi rishtedari hai aur Islam ki madad ke hawale se un ki buzrugi gandhi hui hai . Zubair ne apni talwar ke zariye Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se kitni hi takleefon ka difa kya hai aur Allah Ta'ala jis ko deta hai , bahut nawazta hai . Jab jang apne urooj par hoti hai to yeh bade waqar se chalte huye jang ko mout ki jaanib ghasit kar le jate hain . Is ki misl na kabhi koi tha , na ab hai aur na rehti duniya tak koi ho sakta hai . Teri tareef zamane ke tamam af'aal se behtar hai aur aye Hashemiya ke bete tera fiqal sab se afzal hai .
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو غَزِيَّةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا أَسْمَاءِ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: مَرَّ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ بِمَجْلِسٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَسَّانُ يَنْشُدُهُمْ مِنْ شِعْرِهِ وَهُمْ غَيْرُ نُشَاطٍ مِمَّا يَسْمَعُونَ مِنْهُ، فَجَلَسَ مَعَهُمُ الزُّبَيْرُ، فَقَالَ: «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ غَيْرَ آذِنِينَ مِمَّا تَسْمَعُونَ مِنْهُ شَعَرَ ابْنَ الْفُرَيْعَةِ فَلَقَدْ كَانَ يَعْرِضُ بِهِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَيُحْسِنُ اسْتِمَاعَهُ، وَيُجْزِلُ عَلَيْهِ ثَوَابَهُ، وَلَا يَشْتَغِلُ عَنْهُ بِشَيْءٍ» فَقَالَ حَسَّانُ: [البحر الطويل] أَقَامَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ وَهَدْيِهِ ... حَوَارِيُّهُ وَالْقَوْلُ بِالْفِعْلِ يَعْدِلُ أَقَامَ عَلَى مِنْهَاجِهِ وَطَرِيقِهِ ... يُوَالِي وَلِي الْحَقُّ وَالْحَقُّ أَعْدَلُ هُوَ الْفَارِسُ الْمَشْهُورُ وَالْبَطَلُ الَّذِي ... يَصُولُ إِذَا مَا كَانَ يَوْمٌ مُحَجَّلٌ وَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ كَانَتْ صَفِيَّةُ أُمَّهُ ... وَمِنْ أَسَدٍ فِي بَيْتِهَا لَمُرْفَلُ لَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَى قَرِيبَةٌ ... وَمِنْ نُصْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ مَجْدٌ مُؤْثَلٌ فَكَمْ كُرْبَةٍ ذَبَّ الزُّبَيْرُ بِسَيْفِهِ ... عَنِ الْمُصْطَفَى وَاللَّهُ يُعْطِي فَيَجْزِلُ إِذَا كَشَفَتْ عَنْ سَاقِهَا الْحَرْبُ حَشَّهَا ... بِأَبْيَضَ سَبَّاقٍ إِلَى الْمَوْتِ يَرْفِلُ فَمَا مِثْلَهُ فِيهِمْ وَلَا كَانَ قَبْلَهُ ... وَلَيْسَ يَكُونُ الدَّهْرُ مَا دَامَ يُذْبِلُ ثَنَاؤُكَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فَعَالِ مَعَاشِرَ ... وَفِعْلُكَ يَا ابْنَ الْهَاشِمِيَّةِ أَفْضَلُ [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 5559 - سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
