Abu Burdah narrates that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me, "Do you know what my father said to your father?" I said, "No." Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "My father said to your father, 'Are you pleased with the fact that our Islam is with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), our migration is with him, our Jihad is with him, all our deeds are with him, we participated in Jihad with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Are those deeds of ours (in our book of deeds) ripe and complete, and now, whatever deeds we do after the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (if there are any shortcomings in them), will they be forgiven based on our previous deeds?' Your father said to my father, 'No. By Allah! We also performed Jihad after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), prayed, fasted, and did many good deeds. And we hope that they will be accepted.'" Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "Then my father said to your father, 'By the One in whose grip of power is my soul, my opinion is that the shortcomings of the deeds done after the demise of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will be forgiven due to our previous deeds.'" Abu Burdah said, "I said, 'Your father is better than my father.'" ** This hadith is Sahih al-Isnad, but the Shaykhs (may Allah have mercy on them) have not narrated it. **
" حضرت ابوبردہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے مجھ سے کہا : تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ میرے والد نے تمہارے والد کو کیا کہا ؟ میں نے کہا : جی نہیں ۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا : میرے والد نے تمہارے والد سے کہا ہے کہ کیا تمہیں اس بات سے خوشی ہوتی ہے کہ ہمارا اسلام بھی رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہمراہ ہے ، ہماری ہجرت ان کے ساتھ ہے ، ہمارا جہاد ان کے ہمراہ ہے ، ہمارے تمام اعمال ان کے ہمراہ ہیں ، ہم نے حضور ﷺ کے ہمراہ جہاد میں حصہ لیا ہے ، کیا ہمارے وہ اعمال ( ہمارے نامہ اعمال میں ) پکے ہو چکے ہیں اور اب حضور ﷺ کے بعد ہم جو بھی عمل کرتے ہیں ( اگر ان میں کوئی کمی کوتاہی رہ جاتی ہے تو ) ، ہمارے پہلے اعمال کی بناء پر یہ معاف ہو جائیں گے ؟ تمہارے والد نے میرے والد سے کہا : نہیں ۔ خدا کی قسم ! ہم نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے بعد بھی تو جہاد کیا ، نمازیں پڑھیں ، روزے رکھے اور بہت نیکیاں کیں ۔ اور ہم اس کی امید رکھتے ہیں کہ وہ مقبول ہوں گے ۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں : پھر میرے والد نے تمہارے والد سے کہا : اس ذات کی قسم ! جس کے قبضہ قدرت میں میری جان ہے میری رائے یہ ہے کہ حضور ﷺ کے وصال کے بعد والے اعمال کی کمی کوتاہی ہمارے پہلے اعمال کی وجہ سے معاف کر دی جائے گی ۔ حضرت ابوبردہ فرماتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : تمہارے والد میرے والد سے بہتر ہیں ۔ ٭٭ یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے لیکن شیخین رحمۃ اللہ علیہما نے اس کو نقل نہیں کیا ۔"
Hazrat Abu Burda farmate hain ke Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar Radi Allahu anhuma ne mujhse kaha: tumhen maloom hai ke mere walid ne tumhare walid ko kya kaha? Maine kaha: ji nahin. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar Radi Allahu anhuma ne farmaya: mere walid ne tumhare walid se kaha hai ke kya tumhen is baat se khushi hoti hai ke hamara Islam bhi Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah hai, hamari hijrat unke sath hai, hamara jihad unke hamrah hai, hamare tamam amal unke hamrah hain, humne Huzoor (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah jihad mein hissa liya hai, kya hamare wo amal (hamare nama amal mein) pakke ho chuke hain aur ab Huzoor (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke baad hum jo bhi amal karte hain (agar un mein koi kami kotahi reh jati hai to), hamare pahle amal ki bina par ye maaf ho jayenge? Tumhare walid ne mere walid se kaha: nahin. Khuda ki qasam! Humne Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke baad bhi to jihad kiya, namazen padhin, roze rakhe aur bahut nekiyan kin. Aur hum iski umeed rakhte hain ke wo maqbool honge. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar Radi Allahu anhuma farmate hain: phir mere walid ne tumhare walid se kaha: is zaat ki qasam! Jis ke qabza qudrat mein meri jaan hai meri rai ye hai ke Huzoor (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke wisal ke baad wale amal ki kami kotahi hamare pahle amal ki wajah se maaf kar di jayegi. Hazrat Abu Burda farmate hain: maine kaha: tumhare walid mere walid se behtar hain. ** Ye hadees sahih al-isnad hai lekin Sheikhain Rehmatullah Alaihema ne isko naqal nahin kiya.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ، ثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، أَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ: «أَتَدْرِي مَا قَالَ أَبِي لِأَبِيكَ؟» قُلْتُ: لَا. قَالَ: "" قَالَ أَبِي لِأَبِيكَ: «هَلْ يَسُرُّكَ أَنَّ إِسْلَامَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهِجْرَتَنَا مَعَهُ، وَجِهَادَنَا مَعَهُ، وَعَمَلَنَا مَعَهُ يُرَدُّ لَنَا؟، وَأَنَّ كُلَّ عَمَلٍ عَمِلْنَاهُ بَعْدَهُ نَجَوْنَا مِنْهُ كَفَافًا رَأْسًا بِرَأْسٍ» . قَالَ: أَبُوكَ لِأَبِي: «لَا؟ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ جَاهَدْنَا بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَلَّيْنَا وَصُمْنَا وَعَمِلْنَا خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا، وَإِنَّا لَنَرْجُو ذَلِكَ» . قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَبِي لِأَبِيكَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّهُ يُرَدُّ لِي، وَأَنَّ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ نَجَوْنَا مِنْهُ رَأْسًا بِرَأْسٍ» قَالَ: قُلْتُ: إِنَّ أَبَاكَ خَيْرٌ مَنْ أَبِي «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ، وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 5967 - صحيح
